I plug in an HDMI cable between my Emerson LCD TV and ASUS X200M laptop to watch Crunchyroll on my TV. However, the audio is coming out of the laptop instead of the TV. I don't have this problem when I do this with YouTube or other anime streaming websites. It happens on both Firefox and Chrome. Both browsers, flash, and Windows 10 are up to date.

In my Control Panel, if I plug in the HDMI, it tells me that the LCD is the default device ( https://image.prntscr.com/image/-_6bA2h4RmOUL2Fl2pGrtw.png ) . Worth noting that I set LCD TV as the default device years ago with another television.

Any advice? Thanks in advanced.

What happens if you disable the laptop speakers under playback devices?

Have you tried the Crunchyroll Windows 10 app?

Don't know why this issue would be happening, though. Probably something to do with flash, since everything else uses HTML5 now.

Go to the settings of Flash and check what audio output device is defined.

When I disable the speakers... it switches to the LCD TV. If I re-enable the peakers... it still stays on the LCD TV! Alas, this appears to only be a temporary solution. When I remove the HDMI cable from the laptop and then re-insert, it goes back to using the laptop speakers.

I didn't know there was a Windows 10 app. I just downloaded it, and it played sound through my TV. I'd still rather watch CR through my browser though.

Thanks for all the ideas and temporary solutions.

I hadn't thought of this! Thank you, for thinkng of this. I checked out the settings, but I don't see the option for audio output devices in any of the tabs. The tabs are Storage, Camera and Mic, Playback, Updates and Advanced.
