Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a story-driven open-world RPG that immerses you in an epic adventure in the Holy Roman Empire. Avenge your parents' death as you battle invading forces, go on game-changing quests, and make influential choices.

Been out on PC, PS4, and Xbox a few days now.

Is it worth the current price?

No, from what I've seen of people playing through it, it's not worth the price.

The first guy I watched, who had played it during beta phases, still became confused at the very first set of choices you have to make (which does not explain what those choices actually mean, though does say that you shouldn't worry about it too much. Erroneously, as it turns out). He then gets the beginner tasks, decides to start with a drunk, and gets into a fist fight (because he split his stats and didn't have enough speech), which he loses (because he didn't know how to fight. despite that being part of the beta.). He sneaks up on the guy, chokes him out, and steals all his stuff. Later, the guy tells him that it's okay for him to steal all his stuff (but does not acknowledge that it's already happened).
Almost two hours later, he finishes the tutorial area and still doesn't really seem to know how to play the game, keep himself fed, or perform any task. The gameplay is probably the highlight of the presentation.
Henry, the "protagonist", appears to be too old to be as bland and useless as he actually is. The story is actually kind of trite, though it might actually be somewhat historically accurate, at least thematically, as far as that goes.
The combat system appears to be complex, deliberate, and something most people will avoid as much as possible. I'd expect a lot of stealth.

People complain about the item-based save system (with checkpoints based on beds and story points).

I haven't bought a game at full retail price in a long ass time so I don't see this being any different. I do know that this game been getting some buzz due to historical accuracy or something along those lines.

It looks AMAZING.

This is the one where they've tried to make the combat as lifelike as possible while still being playable.

I've been loving it so far. I'm really big on European history, so I'm really down for the setting. And they really nailed it imo. It's pretty jank in some places, though I'm sure patches will fix it. But I'm really in love with a lot of the systems. It kinda reminds me of Morrowind, in the fact that you can resolve a lot of situations without fighting. But when you do get into fights its really great. Its like For Honor combat, but better. Plus I really like the simulation qualities of the game, such as eating, sleeping, etc.

If you like the setting, and can put up with it not being the most polished thing ever, I'd say go for it. I'm really satisfied with it and have found myself putting some good time into it.

I bought this game the day it came out and man the first 3 hours were fantastic story wise. I'm playing this on PC so a couple of mods can fix the issues people are having, but console players have to wait for patches. Honestly I like it because of how it doesn't try to hold your hand and tell you how to do things like most modern RPG's do, but I know that can turn some people off from it.

I passed on it because the game looks too realistic and buggy for me, though I will admit the Medieval setting combined with the realism really does separate the game from your stock western RPG of this ilk.
