As I said earlier Robotech was my gateway drug. at one point I owned all the novels and a bunch of the comic books too. As well as an abridged 8 hour version of the Macross saga on VHS. I now own ALL of macross (Robotech version) on DVD. and have enjoyed the actual Japanese Macross stories. Even played as Miriya on an online text only Multi-Player Role Playing Game

At this time Anime was only starting to be a thing, with it's afficiando's sharing Beta tapes smuggled from Japan on passenger airlines. It was a different time.

While I acknowledge that it hasn't aged well. and Macek's frankenstein surgery on three unrelated anime was ... bad.

I still love it and think it good.

if you think that "Macek's frankenstein surgery on three unrelated anime was ... bad" then how could you possibly think its good? if the good parts were the parts that did not have the frankenstein surgery then why stay a robotech fan rather then become a Macross or Mospeada fan?

I already told the last guy who said that that both he and you failed to say why it should be a label on a trashcan and that saying that here would be off topic... this place here is for robotech, not well written stories with good characters

I AM a macross fan. Even watching the latest iteration on the dark side. That said I have fond memories of robotech. particularly the Macross Saga. and like I said the Books were pretty good.

It may have been mental bubblegum but it was entertaining and different from other things offered in the media of the time. I liked it.

DO NOT GET IT. in it Minmei looks like my mom and I was born way back in 1993 making her look really REALLY old.
Also the artists often forget to draw the gunpods on the veritech fighters so they are just flying around macross city doing nothing as the zentraedi attack

that is assuming that there was actually any enjoyment in it to begin with...(the onlything that did not suck about robotech is the robotech Battlecry game's gameplay and said game's music)

Proof that the haggis shortage isn't immanent. You like what you like. And I'll like robotech.
