I pay money to watch anime legally on crunchy roll and yet i still resort to using illegal methods to watch any OVAs or special episodes the anime may have. seriously what is going on crunchy roll?

unless im blind? i cant find the extras for Yuru Yuri, though they are very easy to find on those illegal sites...

It is very easy to find on illegal sites because they just take it. They aren't subject to contract negotiation costs for a single episode (vs. a package of 12 for the series).

In most cases OVAs and specials are not easily licensed for a release outside of Japan.

OVA productions (direct-to-video) are often only made with the Japanese market in mind and with a disc release as the only planned release channel. You can of course approach the licensor about them, but they may very well just tell you to that they don't want the content to be on a streaming service.

Similarly, episodes bundled with manga volumes are usually just meant to be available in connection with that particular manga volume, and not on a streaming service.

Specials released as part of the disc release in Japan may be offered to overseas disc publishers to be released on disc overseas. The overseas publisher may or may not be able to offer these on streaming services, at the discretion of the licensor.
