After the Rain (Amazon Prime) High School girl falls for middle aged man.

It's not quite what you think that'd be.

Locodol, not really into idol animes (or at least the idea of them) but I really enjoyed it.

Sound! Euphonium, I'm not the biggest fan of slice of life but I really like this one, very interesting and well done. Another was PUNCH LINE because I tough it would be a super generic ecchi whit out any history at all, and turned out to be an excellent anime whit great characters and plot[//(.)(.)\\] and actual plot.
And my most recent is Bungo Stray Dogs. The description given by livechart and crunchy is not very atractive but it was just amazing and good.
Well may be the list could last forever but those three were pretty amazing for my preconception compared to what I got.

Really not a great moment in my life, but I do actually like Shippuden.

Magi + Hunter x Hunter. I mention both because my main reason for putting them off was the same as I simply didn't want to watch an anime about shotas, but my perception was changed.

I would probably say Air Gear, picked it up for cheap in a sale and thought this would be crap and just put it on a shelf. Run out of things to watch so finally put it in the DVD player and it was awesome, far far better than I ever expected

I don't think I have an anime like that. If I hated it, it would stay hated.

Eromanga Sensei: As much as I shittalk this show, I did like its take on the publishing industry and writing....

Sanrio Boys: thought this was going to be some fluffy advert for Sanrio....got a surprisingly moving at times series about being true to yourself.

IDOLISH 7: Thought this was going to be dumb and campy with an occasional bop or two with a stupid airhead female MC like UtaPri.....got a enjoyable series about male idols/pop groups with entertaining bops and a female MC who's NOT the love interest but a major player!

After the Rain when i heard of the plot being about a 17 year old in love with a 45 year old i lost all hope in everything but i decided to give it a chance and now i absolutely love it.

A Sister's All You Need When i first heard of the plot i honestly didn't think i would like it but now it's on my favorite anime list

I don't watch a lot of series out of my comfort zone but...

Yuri!!! On Ice I was new to anime at the time it was super hyped up, and I thought it was overrated, until I gave it a shot and fell in love with it! So much that I own A LOT of merch for it.

Junjou Romantica Not my first shounen-ai, but it was my first bit of A LOT of yaoi. I enjoyed it in the end though (it's still not my favorite in it's genre, but I liked it more than I thought).

I wouldn't hate an anime until AFTER watching it.

Either that, or just not interested at all, or lose interest.

There are two from the Winter 2018 season that I didn't think would interest me, but I tried them and was very happy to be surprised.

Laid Back Camp http://www.crunchyroll.com/laid-back-camp is an absolute delight. The way these characters both tease and cheer each other gives me a smile that lasts all day long.

After the Rain https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/after-the-rain has a premise that is a turn off for me. However, I tried it and this show is so impeccably crafted I gladly recommend it.

Probably A Place Furthur Than the Universe. Anime is no stranger to putting cute high school girls into ridiculous situations (to be fair some anime that do do it rather well) and the premise of this sound pretty bizarre to say the least, but this is fairly well executed. The staff seem to have done their research on Antarctica from from what I've heard, and it's just a really pleasant watch.
My favorite thing about this though is without a doubt the characters and their interactions with each other; they're interactions feel so realistic in the way they're presented (a lot of it reminds me of some of the stuff I did in high school with my friends).

While there might be multiple anime I trash-talk but actually don't mind, there are only two I've seen that I truly underestimated before I watched them: One Punch Man and Hajimete no Gal. One Punch Man actually appeals to Kierkegaard's religious existentialism, and Hajimete no Gal manages to be a real parody of the harem/fanservice genre.

Most anime I have a good read on; I'm not usually wrong when I think things are crap.

Ranma 1/2. I thought that the idea of a boy turning into a girl to be... wierd. The only reason I watched the anime was because the author had already written a epic masterpiece and so out of curiosity I began watching it... and I loved it!
Also Shampoo is best girl XD
