I'd most definitely take a chance living in Japan if I could read / write / speak the language at a fluent level.

I was able to go to Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo for vacation last year and I love how orderly things are and how polite / respectful the people are. For example, in the trains, people queue up, let those inside exit first and enter in line... I live in Vancouver and here, in the same situation, you'd see people rushing into the train before letting those inside off and they most definitely do not respect lines.

No. As a white foreigner it would probably be nearly impossible to immigrate there anyway.

It'd probably be easier than as a non-white foreigner with no Japanese heritage. Japan's de facto hierarchy for the world is themselves at the top, then developed western nations, then everyone else. This pretty clear if you look at statistics on public opinion where you can see that Japan has high opinions of western nations and ridiculously low opinions of most other nations, especially those of East Asia: 57% of Japanese hold positive opinions of the US (was at 85% before Trump presidency) and 97% hold positive opinions of Germany, while only 13% hold positive opinions of South Korea and only 11% hold positive opinion of China. Regardless its still very difficult to acquire citizenship to Japan anyway, although they give prioritized immigration to people of even partial Japanese descent, which is direct racial discrimination but Japan doesn't have legal guarantee of equal treatment on the basis of race in the same way the US does so they can get away with it.

Sure, temporarily just to see what it's actually like. I wouldn't want to stay though.

Much of my life has been trying to escape and there is no better way than moving to another country. I've never been to Japan but I'm planning on going within the next five years. I would only live there if I could speak Japanese and find work but I would prefer to visit Japan on holiday. It's one of the places I would choose as a final destination if I was diagnosed with terminal cancer (sorry to depress anyone who read this post). I don't think I would fit in with people in Japan because I'm mixed race and their culture isn't exactly accepting of diversity from what I've heard but I have a great respect for the discipline of the Japanese people and the respect shown to the elderly. I will live anywhere that I can find peace and quiet.

Not unless I can speak decent Japanese. Even then I'd rather do traveling there than to actually live there.

No I'd visit but I like where I live right now and have no desire to leave.

As much as i love Japan, i can't picture myself living in there. I guess i love my country that much. I also have my reasons.
