Hunter x Hunter will probably never be completed unless the author can manage to pick up the pace. However, there have been quite a few updates over the last few months, so if the future hiatuses are a bit more limited and Togashi keeps things up, he might finished in 10-15 years and hopefully not die of old age before then. As I see it, the series is probably a bit over halfway finished - though it's impossible to predict where it could go. While that makes me think it would never be done, it depends entirely on the author.

Berserk is a bit mixed as well. I feel it is probably something like 60-70% through the plot, so it's a bit further along than Hiatus x Hiatus, but without knowing what the author is actually going to do to put out more chapters, it may never finish.

Honestly though, getting finished manga that is actually good is a rarity. For every one good finished series you get of decent length, you get dozens of ones with garbage or rushed endings (even the ones that weren't canned!), dozens that never get an ending at all, and you get a few others that finish but are not all that long or strenuous. For every good Fullmetal Alchemist, you get 3-4 mediocre Bleach or Fairy Tail quality series which completely fail to have any kind of consistent writing tone. Then you get series that ended only "adequately," like Naruto, yet weren't all that good either despite technically finishing. Then you get series like Histories Strongest Disciple that get canned despite a long run, or extremely long-running series like Hiatus x Hiatus that may never end (even though they somehow can keep putting out chapters, even slowly, decades later).

I try to just enjoy what I can, in short. I prefer series that have already been completed, as these are always my favorites to enjoy. But if a series will never end, and I'm willing to accept that getting a proper ending may never occur, it's still possible to enjoy some series like this. Hunter x Hunter for example has an AMAZING 2011 anime that stops at a point I would consider a decent enough ending to the series, and while the manga could go on forever (or never end), the arcs made so far are amazing enough for me to still enjoy the series.

Surprised nobody mentioned Nana. The magaka, Ai Yazawa went on Hiatus for health reason in 2009 and released a Nana calendar in 2016. She mentioned before that she wanted to finish Nana, but so far all we got was the calendar. shiku shiku

I assume you're looking at a reupload. The last one to come out was in July, about 9 months ago. It went back on hiatus after that.

The Haruhi Suzumia series. The last light novel came out in 2011. If the light novel never finishes, then the manga probably won't eighter. The worst part is, the author had a perfectly well chance to put a nice ending to the series and wrap it up. But he didn't take it...

Hagiwara Kazushi's BASTARD! This series began in 1988, and it only has 136 chapters (I think it is on hiatus since 2013)

I am not certain if this manga completed or was left to rot, but I thought Tomehane was a nice school life manga and I do not know what happened. Author/artist Kawai Katsutoshi started the manga in 2007 and it had reached issue 63. Maybe one day I will find out.
