So, Momo's costume is really skimpy and sexualized.

I was actually neutral towards her costume because I don't expect girls in shonen to not be sexualized and kinda brushed it off as "Well she creates things from her body so I guess her clothes would get in the way"

That was until I rewatched MHA and realized that her clothes actually don't get in the way when she's creating things

And now I'm wondering if anyone has an explanation on why Momo's costume is so useless because I'm pissed off at how badly the girls in MHA are sexualized.

It was actually explained that it helps her quirk, she is able to create things more easily or something. You could go look it up if you really cared that much.

"Author's inclinations" – it's explained on The Costume page between chapters 65 and 66.

It's generally easier to just assume the girls are dressed sexily because that's what sells an Anime, unless you get a specific in-world reason for it. I wouldn't worry about it, and certainly don't base how much you dislike a character on it. Unless the costume and attitude are completely at odds.

It's not usually logicable away as a girl with a sexy "standard" outfit will flip out if that gets torn and shows a bit more skin, suggesting she's perfectly comfortable showing a certain amount with absolute limits. I can't imagine too many women will wear a bunny suit normally, but go red if the stockings get torn up and you can see direct thigh skin.
