well as the topic title probably gave away, i'm curious if there is, well there probably is, any anime or manga out there, where the childhood friend gets picked, usually the shows i've watched the childhood friend gets left in eternal friend zone.

So i was interested in watching/reading something where the childhood friendship changes into that of a romantic relationship.

Any recomendations are welcome and thanks in advance! (preferably actually available for purchase and not out of print for a decade or so :p)

Spoiler because it's a spoiler to know who wins in a romcom:

Depends a bit on what you mean by "childhood friend"--some of these are "known for several years", some "known since a small child"; I'm leaving out the "knew as a child, but one or both characters forgot about it" (like Love Hina, Please Twins, or Nisekoi)

Anime:
--------
Kimikiss: Pure Rouge
Amagami SS (Kaoru and Ryoko routes)
Myself; Yourself
Nagi no Asukara
Shuffle
Little Busters

Manga:
---------
SA: Special A (also an anime)
Ai Yori Aoshi (also an anime)
Gacha Gacha Capsule
Parallel
Kodocha
Koi Dano Ai Dano
Taiyou no Ie

Cheers for the tips so far :)

Decided to give Taiyou no Ie (house of the sun) a go first as it's available digitally on bookwalker.

and i think i'll also order SA: Special A, it sounded rather entertaining :)

And i guess i was a bit vague when i mentioned childhood friend, i was referencing known each other since childhood, not like Nisekoi and Love Hina (i own both) but there they didn't even realise they had encountered each other before.

Anyways, thanks again for the tips, happy to see both SA and House of the sun are fairly lengthy but does not appear to overstay it's welcome so to speak :p

I just finished a Korean Webtoon called "Our Relationship Is..." that might be right up your alley. (It's about a pair of college students who've known each other since Middle School).
