The New Reality of Anime Viewing

Up until Spring 2017 season I easily handled the anime I wanted to watch including OVA's Movies and lots of Manga The article below kinda made me feel not alone

I stiil have some Spring'18 Shows to be Watched / With Summer and Fall not only shows to be watched but a few to be finished / Winter I gave almost all the Sat / Sun shows to be watched yet THE OVA / MOVIE backlog os out of hand / I have cut my Manga to a couple of ongoing and those the anime got me interested

I am not into binge watchimg lately / maybe because I have done it so much in the past

Sadly I will just probally cut some more shows to watch or if they dont seem worth it

Dont get me wrong the anime I watch regularly are really good and am loyal to keep up on

Spring 2018 is already loaded Oh well

The Greenlight forum

I have been doing the GL forum for a couple of years now and same Time Frame It wasnt crazy Now a day hardly goes by where there isnt 3/4 shows a day added Then which is occuring more frequently the article dont incude links which I fter find easily so it's time consuming but I like doing it

So how are you handling it ?

Falling Behind in Winter 2018 Anime By Kryz Pangan / goboiano

It’s March! We’re entering the latter parts of what turned out to be a pretty great anime season. We had hard-hitters like Violet Evergarden, Devilman Crybaby, and A Place Further Than The Universe.

We also saw the return of fan-favorites like Cardcaptor Sakura, Overlord, and the continuation of The Ancient Magus’ Bride. We even had a few surprise hits like Darling in the FranXX, Yuru Camp, and Mitsuboshi Colors.

With all these great shows coming out week after week, it wouldn’t be surprising if you’ve fallen behind an episode or two (or maybe even more?) in the shows you began watching at the start of the season.

Some anime fans add shows they’ve fallen behind on to their ever-growing “To Watch” list, never to see the light of day again. While some people, including me, strap down and set a few days to binge watch everything.

Am I behind in anime? No. I just don't watch it on the same schedule as the chronologically challenged.

No, you just watch it on your own, thankfully because anime is not as widely popular amongst where I am, I have no fear of it being ruined for me.

Some series like One Piece, I'll never get into because I don't have the time to dedicate to a show with over 800 episodes.

I'm way behind on anime. My queue is filled with hundreds of shows I would like to watch at some point. I used to binge watch a few shows at a time until they were done and then load up a few others, but in the past year or so I've become bored of this same routine and have backed of a lot. I doubt I watch more than twenty episodes of anime (all shows combined) in a single week, and that doesn't help too much when trying to get through shows that have hundreds and hundreds of episodes to themselves along with all the other shorter shows.

Kind of? Sometimes I fall behind on simulcasts during the week because I'm busy with uni, but some of them air during the weekends for me anyway. I'm kind of getting back on track (I've actually just finished catching up on the latest episodes for all of the simulcasts I'm watching. Yay!)
But if I can catch up on it all on Thursday/Friday night or something, then I'm all good. I'm never more than an episode behind for all of my simulcasts.

Yeah, I can't binge watch stuff unless it's summer break and it's a show I'm really into. If I'm watching a non-simulcast, I usually take my time with it (it's taken me 6 months to finish a 13 ep anime before). I used to binge watch anime a lot when I was younger but idol games have taken over my life. Or maybe I've not gotten around to binge watching an addicting anime in a while.

Saturday is my catch up day. I get a sandwich from Mr.Sub and settle in for the night until everything is watched.

There are 4 or 5 titles that I watch every week no matter what. The remaining 15 to 20 I watch them if l feel like watching them. This week I feel guilty watching anime because I'm in the middle of my mid-terms. I hope I can finish all series before the new season starts on April.

I also have to find the time to watch the SAO and No game No life movie. Everybody seems to have watched them already.

Yeah I'm behind on my anime and that's not exactly a bad thing.
I have 4-5 shows I try to watch on the day the release, mostly for the sake of having something to look forward to most evenings, the rest goes into my ever expanding backlog to be watched when I have the time.
It just means I'm not going to run out of things to watch anytime soon and I can still spend a whole evening binge watching stuff if I feel like it and have the time.
With massive ongoing series (that is, One Piece) I've taken to deliberately falling behind. I find it more enjoyable to watch these when I only start watching an arc after it has been completed.
I'm good at avoiding spoilers if they're not dropped where they don't belong and I can live with not getting all the references some shows throw out to other anime.

No I don't consider myself behind in anything. I don't watch everything and those that I do choose to watch, I'll watch in my own time.

Yeah I've been behind on animu since Spring 2016. To this day I still haven't finished watching shows like 91 Days, Sweetness & Lightning etc. in 2016 and bunch of other animu last year (some of then unwatchable thanks to Amazon and Sentai). I've been super busy with my two full time jobs, eats up a lot of time to watch.
