Hi there,

I'm just going straight to the point, I've a Raspberry Pi with Kodi and the Crunchyroll add-on. I've been watching anime using this combination for more than two years now. However, issues started around a month ago, basically, it doesn't work during the weekend.
For instance, this past Saturday I was trying to watch the latest episode of Black Clover, and I've got a couple of error messages before being able to watch it. On Sunday, I've tried to watch different series and all I've got was errors.
My Internet connection works like a charm, I've ruled that out.

Could you please let me know how we can solve this?

Thanks.

Since you specifically mention the weekend in all likelihood this is another symptom of CR not being able to handle the rush caused by new episodes of Dragon Ball Super and One Piece releasing.
I'm not sure exactly what part of the infrastructure is causing the problems as it doesn't affect everyone equally but there's nothing we as users can do to fix it, this one is on CR and/or their CDNs.

There was a recent entry on the ellation blog acknowledging the issue but whatever steps they've taken don't seem to be a complete solution.

The issue persist today.

Since I can watch Anime using the web browser and the PS4 app. I'd say that the Kodi Addon is not working properly, at least is not working on the Raspberry Pi.
I've posted the issue in the Kodi addons forum.

I have tried several platforms, to no avail.
Linux, windows 7, 8, 10, android, The anime playing just freezes for no apparent reason .
I have followed all the fixes that were suggested but nothing helps.
I don't get any errors, it just freezes. It will start back up for a short time , then freezes again.
This is really annoying when i'm trying to watch any Anime.
I fix have been fixing computers sense the early 90's , and it looks to me like the Crunchyroll servers are the problem, they can't handle
the load much of the time.
