I fail to see how a celebrity you don't particularly like liking the same thing as you has any bearing on the thing you like or the community. If they want to dump their money into the industry then that seems like a positive. Besides if you're worried about "fake fans" I highly doubt they'll watch anything other than what's mainstream, so in reality nothing will really change. Mainstream will continue being mainstream and the obscure gems will continue being obscure gems.

I don't think what she said shines a necessarily negative light on the culture, and i personally believe anyone has the right to enjoy the culture.
