The more mainstream trash that enters our hobby the more washed out and censored it will become for American feelings. Nah, U.S. audience reactions has zero impact on anime. I guess we'll get more characters with big butts because of this.

I think anyone that uses the phrase "legit my inspo" to try and convince you they're totally into a thing is not actually into that thing but would very much like you to think they are.

This reminds me of that thread floating around a while back called, "What do you hate the most about anime?"
And the overwhelming response from CR users was: "The fans." ![]() |

This is cute and all, but I don't see how it's a big deal if Kim ends up watching some anime from time to time.

We're not seriously going into the 'fake anime fan' thing are we? I fail to see how a celebrity you don't particularly like liking the same thing as you has any bearing on the thing you like or the community. Anime getting a mainstream nod that most people won't have a clue what it is in the first place, the horror.

Y'all need to chill, even if she ends up bringing "fake" people into anime I don't see how it will be that bad. If they want to dump their money into the industry then that seems like a positive. Besides if you're worried about "fake fans" I highly doubt they'll watch anything other than what's mainstream, so in reality nothing will really change. Mainstream will continue being mainstream and the obscure gems will continue being obscure gems.

It's obviously a marketing ploy, but hey, the more famous people promoting the anime industry, the better, right?
