yes, there were 8 called Strike The Blood II. This may be more than 1 OVA as well.

There was a 2 part OVA Special featuring La Follia that came out before the 2nd OVA series as well

'Kingdom of the Valkyeries' was the 2 disc OVA that followed immediately after the main series.

Strike the Blood II was a 4 disc, 8 episode '2nd season' that involved light novels 9, 11, and 12.

Strike the Blood III is supposed to deal with things up through the end of volume 17, the 'Holy War' arc. No statement yet on number of disks, but we're talking about 5 light novels of stuff. The least they've done a LN with is 2, the most is 4, so there's the likely metric to guess by.

Hopefully CR has the rights to the later OVA seasons, and at the least they will come out on disc, although they really should be streamed first (even if CR would have to get a little crazy with the purity blurs.... ). However, the OVA episodes are just as good, and you start getting answers in STB II to a lot of the stuff left hanging in STB I

CR doesn't add censorship. Catalog titles and OVAs that are the home video versions rather than the broadcast versions therefore are not censored.

I REALLY hope they do this right. The first season had some fanservice as a kind of filler or to break up scenes. Strike The Blood II felt off the rails as it seemed like pure fanservice.

Which makes me curious who -did- add the censoring to the CR stream. Those shadow dodges were far in excess of anything I've seen used previously. In the last episode of season 1 for instance, whoever it was shadow blocked almost half the field of view just to obscure Reina's body, which from camera distance alone had no discernable details to it. It's not on the Discotek release, that's for certain.

Censoring is normally added for the TV broadcast in Japan. You may not see it on fansubs if there was an uncensored or less censored AT-X airing they could rip. (For those that don't know, AT-X is a premium satellite channel available in Japan that specializes in anime. It also costs considerably more per month than a CR sub).

What gets me is that even for titles CR has home video rights to (which include Strike the Blood), they never go back and make the home video version available for streaming. Funimation has done that for subscribers for some time, and HIDIVE has been very good about doing that for Sentai titles.

Crunchyroll strikes me as only caring about new shows. Why don't they add the uncensored shows? Why don't they add OVAs which the Obviously have rights to?

*thumbs up*

I hope for all of the OAVs to get a legit U.S. release, one day.

Especially the La Folia specials.
