Now I don't want to hear anyone talk about how they don't buy anime because it would just lead to another discussion of people trying to justify piracy. If you don't buy anime, then try your best not to reply by giving some completely irrelevant response.

Lately, I have been getting really good deals on anime. I got Midori Days for $12, Nadia for $60, and Kiddy grade for $40. All of these are the complete series too and not just one DVD.

I would have to say that the best anime purchases I've made recently were

Cowboy Bebop: Remix Complete Collection Anime Legends release.
I actually didn't have Cowboy Bebop before and only saw it on Adult Swim. This uncut version is a lot better and to put it simply, its a series that you know you really want. Who didn't love Cowboy Bebop? The best part was I got the entire series for $23. I got one of my all time favorite series for less than $1 an episode. Now that is a bargain.

Noein: To your other self
I have seen a couple ads of this anime, but I never expected it to be as good as it was. I can say that it is one of the best sci-fi anime this decade. I even believe that it's sci-fi aspect is even better than Evangelion even though Evangelion is a better story in general. Noein, however, really is a piece of eloquent writing. The animation style isn't for everyone and plot exposition is slightly confusing, but it is still a great series. The biggest appeal was that it can be enjoyed by anyone. It can be accepted for its great action scenes to appeal to younger audiences, or it can draw you in with its quantum mechanics references if you, God forbid, are a physics geek. Shrodinger's cat anyone? The best part about this is the price. Originally, it was being sold 5 episodes for $20, which is an insanely good price, but now you can get the whole series for $35. A full 24 episode series for $35!!!!! Considering how good this series was, I wouldn't be surprised if they sold it at $100 for the series, but they are only selling it for $35. Thats insanely generous.

Anime I've bought... I'd have to say of the very few I actually have, it would be DBZ!!! Otherwise, I am completely against breaking the law and would never dare do anything that violates its code.

You wanna talk about bargains? Ok, I got the entire series of Gungrave for $5 on DVD, practically brand new. Same thing with RahXephon, $5 and practically brand new. That's about as good as it gets. 48 episodes of anime, $10. That's a little more then 17 1/2 hours of anime. I got the Evangelion series for about $50, lol not as good as $5, but it was worth it for EVA.

Oh god Malay dubs are the worst. If possible, they make some of the characters sound even more retarded than they originally were, which I didn't think was possible.

I try to be wary of those $5 deals because they usually are bootlegs.

Honestly though, this thread isn't about bargains. It's about getting your money's worth. That means a dollar well spent. I could have easily said Midori days considering thats a series I got for less than $1 an episode, but I don't think it was nearly as good as Noein or Cowboy Bebop.

Please tell me where you got those box sets for $5 though. I've been looking for a chance to get Gungrave for a while, but the retail price is almost $200. No one would dare try to sell it at $5. I don't really want the anime legends edition, but if thats the only one available then ok.

Zeta Gundam for $60?!?!?
You mean this edition ?

As someone who is shelf obsessed I must have it.

I saw that S-cry-ed and witch Hunter Robin box set. I haven't gotten the Witch Hunter Robin set yet and I bought the older S-cry-ed box set that came with a keychain and an oddly shaped box. I didn't really get a good deal considering there is only two differences between my version and the anime legends version, but at the time I just had to have it.

Seriously, people who are getting insanely good deals post up where you got them.

haha, I know what you mean about bargains. I just meant that I thought that I got my money's worth. And as to where I got them, lol, I got them down at my local pawn shop. I was just browsing through the movies one day, and I saw them both. I was like "Dang, I'm picking those up!". It was pure luck I got them before somebody else.
I would reccommend this. Go check out your local pawn shop or whatever it is every once in a while. You just might get lucky. The two I picked up were practically brand new with no scratches or anything! I was absolutely amazed at my good luck that day.
