Take Two (the publishers behind some well-known video game franchises like Grand Theft Auto and NBA 2K) CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that their future games will have some kind of recurrent consumer spending, that is, to keep gamers spending money on the game after they've already bought it.

A lot of users on GTAForums were outraged about this. It was quite the discussion on there.

Thoughts?

Hmm. I don’t equate that to all bad things. While I am against pay to win type things in multiplayer’s like the whole loot box stuff I don’t have an issue with much other paid DLC content. There are numerous games I would gladly throw money at if they came out with story DLC/any kind of gameplay extension that sound attractive to me. That only really applying to full games not games you have to buy and then buy DLC to make “full”. I happily bought breath of the wild and Witcher 3 expansions. If it’s that kind of engagement I’m fine with it. In game currency isn’t something I care to buy much of. I’ve bought some GTA shark cards and some NBA VC when it’s on sale but very seldomly. Unless they make things relatively unattainable via in game means then that’s an issue lol(some of the newer GTA online stuff is getting out of hand). I guess I’d be considered more of a wait and see what they do with it type before getting up in arms.
