For me I'd say the only show I've seen where I actively did not like the ending was Guilty Crown. Generally I don't get mad at bad endings or unhappy endings. I can respect a story that doesn't end happily and not really care about ones that end poorly/badly. However with Guilty Crown ooh boy does that make me mad.

Angel Beats: Because it was so abstract how it ended. Your left wondering what exactly happened.

Also... Silent Voice.. were they friends? Lovers? I hate no explanations.

I wasn't thrilled with where Haganai dropped off.

I mean, I get it, anime is mostly a promotional tool to sell manga, light novels or other (cheaper to produce) media, but that season two bummer of a cliffhanger goes beyond the call of duty to shove that fact in your face.

And it's such a fantastic series right up to that last scene.

The series I'm going is kinda old and I haven't heard anyone talk about it in forever so I'm going to mention the ending to the Shaman King anime. I liked the series and hated the ending so much I picked up the manga just to see if the manga ended better. Which it did.

pretty much any of the shows that end mid arc, or on a cliffhanger, and never get picked up again

sekirei, Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero... pretty much anything with a harem in it barring few exceptions (and I say this as a fan of Tenchi Muyo)

Inuyasha's Pre Final chapters ending...

Magikano... the ultimate middle finger to the fans with how all ends..

Probably going to get slack for this one but I think the one I hated the most was the ending to Steins;Gate. I don't think I ever felt so let down from an anime before. See I could pick an obvious one like School Days but I went into that ending with little to no actual investment in the characters or story so it just didn't have any punch. It hurts when the rest of the series sets such a high expectation going in.

I thought the Steins;Gate ending was great.

I read the VN, and I think the anime actually did a poor adaptation of the ending, and ruined a really emotional moment by some things it did earlier. I will agree, the date part of the show and VN were low points though.

Oh really? See this is interesting to me because this was easily one of the most disappointing aspects of the anime I found.

I really need to give the VN a shot one of these days.

To be bluntly honest? 75% of anime have mediocre to terrible endings. -.-

This is correct. Anime / manga tend to be more about the journey than the destination.

As it stands, I was going to take the easy way out and say Gundam Seed Destiny, but the entire second half of that show is a dumpster fire, not just the ending (... which had to be redone and rereleased as a separate OAV, and that was still terrible, IMO).

The worse ending of any anime I can recall is Gilgamesh,

Just with the ones I've seen, disregarding the manga. Definitely Nisekoi, not exactly a 'bad' ending, just one that made me mad when I realised it was the last episode. But hopefully that wasn't the ending, and a new season will come, soon.

Ah, yes. Nisekoi. If only there would be more this. Finishing the rest of the manga.

Unfortunately, much of the time the journey itself goes no where and ends on a giant reset button so the exact same journey can be repeated ad naseum. Just in case there was any actual plot development that needed to be negated.

As for GSD I....honestly don't even remember the ending. I remember things happening up to the ending but not the ending itself. I assume my mind is blocking it out.

I can think of one older anime here on CR that is literally true for, so much so that I nicknamed it "The Never Ending Anime" when I originally viewed it on DVD rentals from Netflix:

I remember watching that when it first came out but I can recall virtually nothing about it now although I'm sure it ends in a status quo reset just like every other romcom harem of that era. It's nothing compared to some of the worse offenders though like Inuyasha or indeed anything by Rumiko Takahashi. She's made a career out of beating dead horses. Even Rin-ne, her most recent work to be turned into an anime, is 40 volumes long and 75 episodes. If those 75 episodes even cover the entire thing.
