Again, what does a home release have to do with getting the OPs and EDs? Simulcasting doesn't mean they can't get a license to sub the songs. And once in a while they actually do get it. See Garo: Vanishing Line and Dagashi Kashi season 2 for recent examples. Conversely, there are home releases out there that DON'T get subs.

There is zero correlation here. It's just a matter of how much effort the company wants to put into it. And currently, Crunchyroll is putting in the least amount of effort.

Pokedude900 totally agree with u. Flash is dead anyone knows that. I just posted on another thread (haven’t seen yours) concerns (as a new premium member) with the website.

And for those who may debate about that, here’s something to think about: It’ not ‘cos other websites are still using it that crunchyroll should. (And if they were working on a revamp for the website, it would certainly be well noticed to attract more customers)

As I said on another post. This is a business, and should aim for profit as any other businesses out there, including listening to their customers complaints.

And for all the other guys that will post after me: Doesn’t matter if crunchyroll is streaming as advertised (except on weekends..), people (in general) would pay (even more) if the product (streaming) was delivered in a better box (website/app).

Remember guys, I’m not attacking Crunchyroll, I want a better service.

What makes more business sense then? Overhauling a website that essentianally at its core performs its job? Or acquiring the licenses of new shows and subtitling them to get them out as fast as possible for the viewers?

I think a fancy new website wouldn't bring in nearly as many new "customers" as acquiring more content available for viewing.

People seem to think that anything on the internet is magically created in a matter of seconds... businesses have a limited amount of resources to allocate into major projects such as an overhaul of their entire system. Most likely they'd have to hire an entire team of people, if not multiple teams, to accomplish this... which the overall cost would most likely far outweigh the benefit... in the "business" perspective.

Cronozj, as an IT coordinator I know that everything has a cost and budgets are limited. Still, they need to have budget for every department, including development.

I believe they have statistics about what’s the main method for consuming their videos (if its the website or an app) and start there, focus on improvements.

They don’t need to do everything in one huge change, if most complaints are for player issues, focus there first, then add features one by one or use the methodology 80/20 (solve the max number of issues with the less amount of the adjustments/investment needed) - Is a well-known method in IT when you have multiple issues and low budget/team to manage it.

What iam saying is, they need to do something.

I don’t know if you subscribe Netflix, even they (that supposedly have more money) change the frontend at small improvements.

Once again, the media (shows) are part of the Experience, iam not paying just for that but for the whole package, and I do believe that a better presentation of your company/product would increase subscribers. Obviously is just piece of the whole thing - marketing needs to action and make Crunchyroll known for more people and it’s appeal: affordable prices for your favorites animes.

Just like u don’t buy a phone only by its OS or only by its design, is the whole thing that make u choose one over the other.

Cheers!

Going by the below Medium post, the primary issue is that CR's services are delivered using a monolithic application tied into a single database, so high traffic in one part of the site will affect performance across all parts of the service. This isn't something that can easily be fixed with incremental upgrades, and there are probably some technical or logistical challenges they are still trying to resolve before that can be rolled out.

Hi eyeofpain, the website performance is another issue that is not bad (all the time). What I meant above is that I agree with the original user who started this thread, that CR website lacks what most paid streaming websites have and that’s affect end user experience, therefore should be addressed by dev department.

The “black weekends” is another issue that should be solved, but not the main concern in THIS thread.

Cheers!
