An official website and Twitter account launched on Monday to reveal that Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga manga is getting a television anime adaptation by Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, The Ancient Magus' Bride). Anime production company Twin Engine began streaming a promotional video for the series.

Plot Summary

Thorfinn is son to one of the Vikings' greatest warriors, but when his father is killed in battle by the mercenary leader Askeladd, he swears to have his revenge. Thorfinn joins Askeladd's band in order to challenge him to a duel, and ends up caught in the middle of a war for the crown of England. From the creator of the classic Planetes manga comes this epic, highly-anticipated tale.

I highly doubt it. This is being done by a highly reputable studio, not one that does animation on a budget.

So Amazon got this and a bunch of the newer announcements heh? They are trying a second time I guess? Hopefully this time they do it right.

It's just a little bit a shame for a dub and all. I don't have high expectations regarding anything beyond streaming.

Goddamnit Amazon. The manga is a near masterpiece series, glad it's in Wit Studio's hands. Shame that Kodansha has almost discontinued this series several times, really wish they would take some of that money from Attack on Titan and even the shitty Fairy Tail's success and put it towards Vinland Saga.

Why are people still mad when Amazon gets shows, they got rid of the double paywall, which was what everyone was complaining about. They simulcast, unlike when Netflix airs shows that air on Japanese tv.

Some people just want everything on a single service (which is unlikely to happen).

I think the results of correlating the people making this type of complaint with those that complain about CR's Saturday night overloading (which is example of why putting everything on one service wouldn't be a good thing).

To be fair, however, some people do have other complaints about Amazon, such as their apparently sometimes lax scheduling regarding posting simulcast episodes, and opinions regarding their subtitle quality (or lack thereof).

In a perfect world (for consumers), every anime service would have every anime title, and they would have to compete on price and service alone.

Consider the animation quality of what Wit Studios has done thus far:
