What do you think of the future of the human race in 200 years time?
Posted 3/19/18
Well I heard that in that time it will be gone. With the rate of how we are going I'm thinking maybe? Opinions on whether we will be 'bustling and booming' or caput?

Ok. Let's begin!

Well, I'm beginning to think we will emulate The Great Filter in due course (or The Fermi Paradox Wall). I'm a nihilist these days. Thanks Trump.

Honestly, unless we have a massive change of heart as a global society as to where our priorities and values lie, we're all doomed.

More things change, the more they stay the same. The destructive nature of man stays the same, and we're still at war. Always. If there is order, it is maintained by the sword/iron fist. Which, still isn't peace.

We'll all be just fine. There will power shifts and new alliances. Probably at least 2 super natural disasters. 4 more world wars. After all this, humanity will begin to unite. Then we will travel to the other planets in our solar system and have humanity spread out. By this time, we will be living in a utopia, just like Stat Trek, and everything will be great

Probably either in space or under ground, depending on if we can avoid destroying ourselves for that long.

Global socialism will have lead to a colapse of civilization and the anarchy. Anarchy will lead to walking dead style survival of the fittest/ moast ruthless. The snowflakes will be the first to go lmao.

i remember some science class ecosystem simulator where there where over abundances of food causing certain animals in the ecosystem to overpopulate until they ran out of food and then predators that ate that animal increase in population until the animals they ate where scarce and then they decreased in numbers and the animals they ate made a comeback and the plant the animal ate has overpopulated but what the simulator showed was the nature balances itself out sometimes it takes 10 years other times 50 years it would show the ecosystem i make an adjustment and animal populations decrease or increase but nature would correct it if left alone i dont think humanity will keep growing and growing i think like the simulator we will exhaust our resources and humanity will decrease in numbers i hope im not alive when that happens so i think instead of an excessively crowded earth in 200 years there may be a fraction of the population left in that time unless we colonise Mars or something

things will be different that's for sure. it could be a silly moment where the people are stupid like in Idiocracy, or perhaps it could be a better, or worse future. or, perhaps it could be more refined after the robot and AI revolution begins. I know I won't be around to see it, so it doesn't matter fully. I'm curious to see, but I won't see it.

In 200 years buildings will be demolished and paved over. The concrete jungle will forever be a reminder of what little control we have over our surroundings. Land will be excavated and drilled into. Technology will replace our own ideas and thoughts with satisfaction. People will still be at eachother throats because of intolerance and bigotry, even a war would emerge if left unchecked.

It's no different from now. We just experience a future of advancement, not in humanity, but technology. In 50 years all that we have looked up to will be dead, in 100 years we would have no one left to appreciate except a memory of what we thought was great.

In 200 years this planet will be a lonely one, one that has run out of tricks and ideas, and if by chance we are greeted and blessed with something or someone to give it another chance, maybe I might be alive to see it.

Until then it is just slowly on it's way to becoming a forced belief of one's own morals and rights to satisfy the majority. What happens when the proudest moment in humanity is over and done with? What is there left to achieve? Conflict? We haven't even changed in the past 200 years except becoming a cleaner and healthier civilization, even when most people decide to live in filth and disease just like we would back then. What is another 200 years going to bring? People are still going to be scared, insane, unjust.

You'll just have bigger and better televisions and monitors to help minimize contact with what the real world is slowly turning out to be. Even then they will suck you dry of your resources for a moment of happiness.

so when you see a beautiful day, I suggest you enjoy it, because you never know when those days might never come

Pretty sure we will all be like the people in Wall-E, sitting in a chair, unable to get up and completely hooked on our entertainment devices.
Actually, it's either that or all hooked up to a computer doing the same thing assuming that by some miracle a nuclear war hasn't wiped us out yet.
