I work at a factory and have lost a lot of my hearing since I started. It's not like I can't hear anything but it takes a lot away from the viewing experience when I have to hone in on the sound effects going on. When using the app/website most ear phones and head phones can't handle what I need, except for in-ear earphones a bit but those get uncomfortable.
I'm not sure if it's a technical or safety issue, but if the volume can be raised by just two levels that would be great for me. I remember my Nintendo DSi had pitiful ear phone volume but I'm assuming that was to protect kids and what not. Maybe make it an option in the settings menu to increase the max volume? Whatever is done, I think this would be a nice quality of life change for the service that more than just users hard of hearing can appreciate.

If you haven't already done so, there are enhancement settings in the Windows Speaker interface in the tray icon which can affect the volume somewhat.

Right-click the speaker in the tray
Select "Playback Devices"

Select the green-checked playback device, such as "Speakers/Headphones" and then the "Properties" button (or double-click the device)

Go to the "Enhancements" tab, there will be selection boxes

But if you can find any of these, it sometimes helps volume output to check their boxes; you may have to experiment a bit checking one at a time, or a few in combination.

(there may be different ones in different windows versions (7/8/10) or hardware installed, such as a GPU)

Environment
Equalizer
Virtual Surround
Loudness Equalization
Bass Management

I primarily watch Crunchyroll through the app on my phone so this won't help much :(

you could try and use a headphone amplifier, though those vary greatly in quality and price. (audio from CR anime isn't hifi ,so you probably won't need anything fancy)
