It's a really fun show, the only thing that hurts it is that they repeat clips in the epsode itself. Not to mention the OP is just a clip show so going to have to skip that a lot.

I wasn't expecting much of anything from this (not knowing anything of it's history whatsoever), but seems pretty fun. The OP seems to skew towards a younger demographic, but at least a few of the references seem too old for this generation's kids to get, so I'm guessing there's a heavy aim towards nostalgia. The spirit gun being the most obvious for the Toonami crowd anyway. Overall this retro horror/comedy take on modern topics looks enjoyable (assuming it keeps that avenue up).

Noticed that for the finger gun it didn't seem like the finger back to the first joint was the projectile.

Yeah, when the manga came out in 1960 it was "Wait a minute, you are aiming this at children ?

It was fun, I'm looking forward to experiencing some of what previous generations had with other users in this update of Gegege no kitaro-kun.

Please be sure to keep source material or story taken from past manga or anime marked in spoilers. If it's not shown or explained yet in the new series, it's a spoiler for people only watching the new series.

I haven't read the manga of the same name, but I can get the general feel going on so far.

Cursed things happen, Yokai comes to banish curse; possible curse of the week? Things like that. I'm digging the new character design since it feels really up-to-date or I suppose modern.

I'm also all for supernatural shenanigans, so this'll be fun to marathon. I also really appreciate that Logan Paul reference, lol.

eps 2: now the rest of the cast shows up. and the original catgirl shows up.

Looks like there a bigger plot going on here too.

Nope. I like it more than I feel I should.

Now we meet Catchick and Rat Man. I know those are pretty accurate translations, but I still think they sound funny.

Good, seems like it's going for a semi-abridged slow intro with several character introductions at a time. Once a cast gets together shows usually take off.
