The current one is sang by an Enka Singer Kiyoshi Hikawa who ic called the Prince of Enka

Found the 60's original op https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9boVDep-diw

OP of the 1971 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NeYQOpMCt2k&t=18s
Movie version of 70's? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0tBCAmE64M
Op in 1986 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bwOON3-1bY
OP in the 96's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0tBCAmE64M&t=21s
OP of the 2007 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q36p9m5MrNs

It turns out the intro is an adaptation of the original anime OP (possibly multiple OPs). Explains how mellow it is.

I think the personal names should have been left alone. After people who are familiar with the first live action movie and the manga, both of which have been released in the U.S., are familiar with the Japanese names and it would not be a problem for new viewers to not translate them.

Daddy Eyeball and Catchick are a bit much.

I thought it had been Ayuumu Murase at first but was surprised to see Sawashiro.

You have to wonder how many hours each day Mana spends getting that perfect helmet hair.

Look how long the Sailor Moon intro song lasted. When you have a winner you stick with it. (I guess the 007 movies have stuck with the same tune for a while also)

Neko is definitely the selling factor for me in this show so far. Her personality and abilities stands out a lot compared to the others.

In 1985 Kitaro was Keiko TODA
In 1996 Kitaro was Youko MATSUOKA
In 2007's Kitaro was voiced by Minami Takayama , who is also Conan She has a very nice shonen voice.

And now Medama Oyaji is voiced by Masako Nozawa who was Kitaro 1968 and 1971 and is till Goku of DragonBall

A lot of the youkai friends and foe of Kitaro except of Neko musume is voiced by the older generation seiyuu who has at one point worked in the Gegege no Kitaro series.Kappei Yamaguchi who was Inuyasha is here as the Ittan Momen aka loincloth

well the third series broadcasting rights is with Nippon Golden Network, while the 4rth and 5th is by Sony Picture Network since Animax Asia is under their belt.
