And I as I've said multiple times already, there are FAR worse games on the market than this one. I don't believe ANY of the regions Crunchy was planning to release this game in would have had a problem with the touching feature.

I wasn't responding to your comments, but I had read the entire thread, including your posts. My first paragraph was a standard statement directed towards game companies in general. The situation of CrunchyRoll may indeed be different in a few areas, but I get tired of typing out these same basic ideas and have saved standard paragraphs on my computer that I sometimes quote from. There are indeed far "worse" features in games out there. The other two paragraphs in my previous post show that I am with you on this and hate how progressively invasive censorship is becoming, even if I don't care about this particular feature.

And I stuck to violence to presumably not have "objectionable" material in the links. This has *LITERALLY* been happening since before you were born.

It's a real bummer that CR both censored and lied about their very first game. Added to the problems with localization and availability for their series, a CR premium account is less attractive every time I read this type of news from CR.

When asked on cr's twitter "will the game be censored in the usa?"

official response "NOPE!"

this advert here, Third picture from the bottom
"Interact with the characters one on one"

This was COMPLETELY REMOVED BECAUSE of SJW morons at crunchyroll.

Their official response on CR twitter/reddit "its not censorship, we decided its not appropriate for americans so we took it out" (paraphrased)

and "there is no change to the game whatsoever" (paraphrased)

except an entire feature of the game is removed, you cant call that "no change whatsoever".

and "not appropriate for americans" is literally the definition of censorship.

@luis3007
@loginisstupid
@nodlimax

Agreed, I can't ignore this either.
I still don't know if they are blind or if they are ignoring us until we forget about this.

But let me tell you something!

I WON'T GIVE UP!

Not only because I want that feature,
not only because I hate censorship,
but because if we don't fight they will censor other things!
Censorship is like an cancer that must be exterminated!

I HAVE A SUGGESTION!

Looks like our comments here are been ignored,
and I doubt that a few people closing their account here and there will make our voices been noticed.
I will give them till the end of the month to answer this matter and if they don't I will end my account.

If you are reading this, I want as many people as possible to do the same.
If nothing is done, at the last day of this month, delete your account, and while asked why? Answer that Crunchyroll censored the Danmachi game and lied about it.

Honestly cancelled memberships are the last thing they should be worrried about. That class-action lawsuit thing wasn't just an idle threat. People are filing complaints with the FTC for false advertising. Crunchyroll is going to face legal action for this. At minimum, they'll probably have to refund all the money people spent on the game since launch. Which might bankrupt their games department.

And that will be a good thing. It will show other game localization companies that censorship, false advertisement, lying and patronizing arrogance towards customers doesn't pay and should be avoided.

That is not what I asked for. Like, at all. You claimed that this game and its touching mechanic got more attention from the media than a specific anime full of abuse and rape. Games having a history of controversy in general is irrelevant. Plenty of anime get banned in other countries too. That doesn't stop things like Magical Girl Site and Pandora in the Crimson Shell from being released today.

And for the last time, please address all counterpoints made against your initial argument.
I'm sorry, I didn't see any counterpoints from you and it's hard to know who's responding to what.

I said "one gets more attention than another." This touch feature did not in fact get attention -- because the company read the current social mood and didn't include it. If they did, that would be socially "Tone Deaf" for the markets they operate in. At the moment they're just "Tone Deaf" on how to respond to their own customer base, which isn't a good thing. It isn't one or the other, they suck at handling PR.

We agree games have a history of controversy and being scapegoated. ... And you think it makes sense to the investors for Crunchyroll to tempt it? If someone wants a return on their investment and continued existence, they won't take needless risks.

Anime on a different site entirely not being banned don't affect Crunchyroll. They're not easily scapegoated videogames.

EDIT: If 'counterpoints' you mean were people saying, "You don't know for sure that there would be immediate negative consequences!" then, OK you got me. Obviously I can't read the future of things that haven't happened. But where's the overriding benefit for them to tempt fate?

If they did it and got away, then I guess it worked out and you would be happy. If they did it and coincidentally got picked up by mass media or Twitter because it was a slow news day, who wins? If I'm looking to invest in a company, I'm not doing it with the company that got publicly roasted under any circumstances. I might invest in a company that lost a few fans that were disappointed over a product if they explain it to me.

Nearly every post on page 3 thread was a counter to your arguments. And you ignored all of it.

If you're going to continue playing dumb after being asked repeatedly to defend your point, then I have to assume you're shilling for Crunchyroll.

This is what I see on page 3, some lines removed because they seem to be the same point:

Only rational option? You mean Harvey Weinstein grew up on anime games? This makes completely no sense.
Tell it to the UK, Australia, etc. It's rational from a business standpoint.

Edit: Lying to your customers is never "the only rational option". There was that reply from official community team account that explicitly said the game wasn't censored. It's already archived, so deleting won't help.

Again a reference to the official response, because I was talking about removal of the feature. If to me, that is confusing what's happening at best, and at worst a deliberate attempt to shift my words to fit a different argument.

You're completely delusional if you think this kind of game can't be sold in the West.

I never said they can't. They are certainly sold. Localizations that come without censoring of sex are quite limited though vs. localizations of games that don't have sex to begin with. On my desk is a 3DS with Bravely Default, and localizers covered up some of the skimpy outfits on barely-human looking sprites.

I haven't heard of any explicit games since Me Too but undoubtedly some companies think it's worth it for them to try.

Go watch the first episode of My Wife is the Student Council President and tell me poking girls in this game is too offensive for us.

Again, this seems to be a response to the official reddit post.

So first they censored based on political reasons, then they lied about it from an official account, then they lied that it isn't censorship.
I can agree with that. I don't remember any messages prior.

Plus a political movement like "Me Too" cannot censor what content masses can and cannot consume.

They can and do. Case in point: This situation. Just like any public uproar can produce some response from politicians.

What are you even talking about? None of that would have happened had this game remained uncensored. There are significantly more risque games localized that don't have any of these things happen to them.
True, I cannot read the future. Neither can anyone else. But UK and Australia would probably freak out about it a bit wouldn't they? America isn't the only country that speaks English.

EDIT: I get that you're upset and want to vent at someone and want people to say you're right. I don't work for Crunchyroll though, and I think you're overreacting and lashing out.
