Hmmm am I supposed to know why LLENN is the only one so fast in the game? I didn't really get that and it was nice that they pointed it out but still didn't really explain why someone would wear such a garish outfit that makes them stand out so much in a game where stealth is so important.

Probably something about the first episode of the original GGO arc where suddenly speed is useless and now VIT was more important. Gave the villain a reason to be evil, probably some reason in this spinoff that 1) She is fast a rabbit 2) Hat looks like Rabbit Ears 3) Pink. Speed is now the retro in-thing to be using. *shrug* Not like games really use real world tactics, that pro-team they speak about wouldn't actually learn anything since their targets are faster and shoot far more accurate, just a lame excuse for plot telling.

Then again, getting the feeling that if there are any male characters they will have about the same importance as Klein or Agil when it comes to the number of lines they will be speaking, that M guy excluded. Show feels kind of like an idol theme or girls with guns, again . More cute factor, less so on actual plot

So I take it the MC is a Tracer/Scout type character? The action wasn't bad, though it would have been nice if her partner did more than talk and walk her through everything. But holy hell did the talking just kill any sense of pace or tension, and get outright boring in the middle. I've never particularly cared that much one way or the other for SAO, and this is teetering precariously between "okay" and "meh" for me.

It took me 3 episodes to lose interest in the original SAO. This may break that record if the second episode is more exposition dump than action.

I rather dig the action style here; much more tactical than most others. Plus, seeing sniper rifles in action is always a treat.

LLENN's quite an odd one. As others said, I'm curious as to why she's the only one so far to be shown with special skills. The pro team didn't use special skills on purpose, but perhaps some hint of it could have come from the other slain teams. While the pink outfit feels like a disadvantage for covert operations, the small size of her avatar also makes her a smaller target.

Episode 1

SAO Alternative GGO is already better than its predecessor.

Just goes to show you how much of a better writer Keiichi Sigsawa is compared to Reki Kawahara. Also, props to the staff behind Princess Principal doing their best to make this adaptation interesting too!

oh that was nice, was like watching an anime of PUBG. I liked the calls made by the shotcaller, made the episode more immersive.

This is already off to a better start the actual GGO arc in SAO.

It also didn't end up playing well in regards to LLENN given that she was portrayed as both this well known player but also a complete idiot who didn't understand the basic game rules or strategy.

It didn't really seem contradictory to me. After seeing how she took care of those guys at the end, I can see why she's popular (or maybe it was just her IRL friends hyping her up). She's a skilled fighter, but M is the one who comes up with all the strategies.

What surprised me was her speed. It sounded like she was just going to be kinda faster than average but then she was like "GOTTA GO FAST!" I hope that's explained eventually.

The first episode was decent enough but it's still pretty early and there's definitely the possibility for the series to fall into the typical SAO Mary Sue OP MC issue. They've done nothing to counter that problem so far. Personally if you're on the fence I'd recommend waiting another few episodes to see how things develop before jumping in.

Personally I don't hate SAO as much as other people do and this is animated by 3Hz so why not, I'll watch it.

Then I'll put this on the to do list at the bottom after I watch every other anime on my list for the new shows this season and last season. After of course DARLING in the FRANXX, My Hero Academia season 3, Overlord season 2, Black Clover, and of course some oldies.

No Kitrio or Asuna already put this show at a +1 for me.

Pretty good first eps introducing our main char and a match as well. I'll keep watching..

Never thought I'd be watching anything related to Sword Art Online again, yet here I am. Hearing that this was by a different author and Studio 3hz (which so far, I've enjoyed all their work) was enough to get me to try it.

Personally, I felt like the episode could have done with just a little less talking and a tad bit flashier combat. Don't get me wrong, what we got was fine, but I've seen Princess Principal ~ I know what these guys can do. I'm guessing they'll save the big guns for later.

LLENN is pretty darn cute. Quite like the ostentatious outfit, weapon, and "rabbit" theme. But what sold it for me was seeing her real persona at the end. I'm glad she was more of an adult woman, and I actually quite like the idea of characters expressing themselves differently in games (one of my favorite aspects of the recently aired MMO Junkie).

Looking forward to see how this turns out. Although I've grown to dislike SAO, this series seems to be taking out all the aspects that were unappealing to me personally and leaving me with an anime about an MMO that's not a harem. Now if they just leave out romance as well I'll be totally set to fall in love with it.
