I don't mean to come off too strong, but I really dislike the setup of VRV. I recently made the switch since it was made by Crunchyroll, includes Funimation, and also is said to keep your Crunchyroll premium membership.
But I have come to realize that the premium thing is very limited. I can't watch anything on Crunchyroll anymore unless I go to VRV.
The issue with that is the way VRV is set up you have to go searching around for new shows on Crunchyroll.
If you go to VRV not all the spring simulcast is even there in the section that specifically says spring simulcast. For example Food Wars is not located in the Spring Simulcast or in the continuing simulcast...
I had to search for the 3rd season of MHA and also Food Wars.
I obviously only switched to VRV believing what I was told. Basically you get the best of both worlds for only $3 more a month.
Unlike on Crunchyroll, the Crunchyroll on VRV lacks their most important categories (in my opinion, of course). That would be newly released episodes and most popular shows. They have something for episodes released THAT DAY, but it isn't only for Crunchyroll and for every VRV channel. .
I just wish that Crunchyroll would add their newly released section and most popular sections to VRV. That way people who are busy with everything can just go to there to see what they missed for the week...just like their original site. I'm sick of having to go to my watch list and see how many episodes I may have missed of a show..or even the fact that I have to make a watch list unless I want to go searching for the show I want every damn episode.
Even the "released today" anime has been a day behind on VRV for me lately..

Is there any way that anyone knows to make suggestions to better the site? Not just emails nobody reads but maybe a forum for VRV read by actual moderators or anything? It's super annoying to think I have to cancel VRV and pay for Crunchyroll and Funimation separate just so I can watch newer released anime without having to Google the new simulcasts and search them on VRV.

Does Funimation have any exclusive content right now? I guess if English dubs are your thing, but besides that...?

I canceled my Funimation subscription once their content began moving into Crunchyroll so I don't see the appeal of VRV at all *shrug*

The Tokyo Ghoul series (including Re) isn't on Crunchyroll (or VRV for that matter). There's a number of other shows that haven't moved over yet too.

That's true, but I switched before I had hulu (which surprised me with their impressive anime selection) and thought VRV would have more shows. Like I had to watch Steins;Gate and FLCL my first time on YouTube so that's why I switched to vrv because it was easier to watch those shows there along with a couple others. But it just seems like false advertisement. I must have missed some fine print when they say you get your premium cr benefits, and funimation for $3 more. Because the plan was the to activate VRV just for the extra few shows, but keep watching my CR shows on here. I actually prefer subtitles, but sometimes depending on a situations the sub is nice.

I agree. It's frustrating to have to search through rather than have it in one neat spot. I would like for them to fix that, but find it doubtful that they will. It's also frustrating that they don't have a direct line to their customer base on vrv. No forums to let us know about stuff/provide feedback.

Isn't it on Hulu? I watched the first 2 seasons of Tokyo Ghoul on Hulu, but I didn't check to see if the new one was up yet.

This may be a bug. I pay for VRV Premium bundle, yet I still do 99% of my anime watching on Crunchyroll's site. I mainly just use VRV for the Funi titles and the DramaFever shows.

VRV is pretty much Crunchyroll's replacement

If they want me to move over VRV, first they have to make the subtitle languages option available.
They need to tailor their app similar to Netflix's.

After you link your accounts you should definitely be experiencing Crunchyroll on the Crunchyroll site as a premium member. It might take several hours (maybe even a full day) for that to kick in completely, but if that doesn't happen you should contact support.

If the "very limited" refers to how the VRV watchlist and Crunchyroll queue are completely different and are not linked, or that your watch history on each is completely separate, you are correct.

I agree that finding things on VRV is a lot more difficult and it does seem to take a while for them the update the VRV simulcast category (and in the past I've noticed that even well into the season it's sometimes incomplete--but that could have been a bug at that particular time.)

Right now I use VRV just as a backup in terms of crunchyroll (watch a single episode when I'm having trouble accessing Crunchyroll itself), and not as my regular place to watch CR shows, so my primary use has been for the Funimation content and, recently, for DramaFever.

That it is although I thought they meant in comparison to Crunchyroll.

Yeah, I'm not exactly finding VRV easy to navigate, either. That said, I use it as a backup in case thing go wrong on Crunchyroll like during those Saturday night crashes around the time Cardcaptor Sakura comes to the air. Pretty much, I just stick with having separate subscriptions for Crunchyroll and Funimation seeing that one day, I plan to do away with my Funimation subscription on a recurring basis, but I'm not quite ready to end it just yet as I had planned on keeping it for at least another year (and while I didn't realize it back then, it ended up being a great decision with Tokyo Ghoul:re not on CR due to an old licensing agreement). I just don't have much use for the other stuff there, so I just stick with what I have and only go to VRV as a backup plan. I wasn't really aware that it's not the end-all, be-all thing that people thought they were getting, at least not 100% so.

As soon as I found out that they didn't have the full Funimation catalog, and at the time didn't have a Fire TV app, I stopped even considering VRV.

I really have no idea why anyone would spend $6 a month to get a Funimation only VRV subscription, when FunimationNow is the same price and has more content

I switched to VRV and linked my crunchyroll account and it worked just fine. I still mainly use crunchyroll and go over to VRV to watch Funi Dubs. It is a bit of a hassle cause it doesn't have the best navigation, but they way I use it if there's a show I want to watch, I just use the search function and it's usually there.

VRV does get simulcast shows but it updates slowly so it would be best for a secondary service. Or if it's a Saturday and you can't watch something, then I also switch to VRV and it's there. That's how I watched the final DBS episode.

I will say, i recently Subscribed to Hidive, I think that website trumps VRV in terms of discovering anime and their Schedule tab is really nice for keeping track of times of releases, something I hope that gets implemented here.
