I've been thinking of switching from a CR premium membership to a VRV subscription. Is there any huge reason not to do this?

If I switched, I'd be using it 95% for Crunchyroll.

One of the major things that made me think about switching is that I heard that VRV lets you download videos on mobile, and let you watch them with no internet connection. Is this true? If so, does it work for all videos, including CR's?

Are there any major downsides to getting CR's anime through VRV?

Thanks

With your CR subscription, you don't need to switch... Create a free account there, and then in the profile section you can link your CR account. After about a day, you will be able to access all the CR content that is there. (no Manga though).

The only reason to switch is if you really want, and will use some of the other channel content there... and then you would be paying $3 more for that.

I personally don't like the interface either on the web or in the devices, or their "queue", which last I heard was limited to 99 shows, and you can't rearrange it. It also doesn't carry over from here. Navigation/trying to browse for shows is just not a good experience for me. You also lose the monthly guest pass to give away.

The ability to download (to apps only) for offline use is the only good thing about it IMO, and you can use that without switching... YMMV, of course.

Oh, there's no forum there as well, just video comments.
