Has The Ending Of An Anime Series Affected You? - If it did affect you; then was it in a positive or negative way?

Lately I've been seeing people crying, depressed and some can't function well after a particular series has ended.

Thanks For Your Input in Advance . . .

It is pretty clear that there are some people who can't just let a series go once it's ended, but I don't know I've ever specifically experienced that. For me it's more just a feeling of either being satisfied or disappointed with the ending itself. Sure the actual ending (or some other part of the story) may make me cry or shout or impact me in a quieter, deeper way, but that's not about the series ending, that's about the content. If I really love a series but it doesn't have much of an ending I may seek out the source material, if it exists, but that's about it. No real series ending depression for me.

The ending of an Anime has made me Cry, like one did after my Father died and it helped me. (Which one is a secret.)

If the ending is good, it usually leaves me feeling satisfied and a little heavy-hearted.
There is so much anime out there though, I don't find myself unhappy about it for very long.

Not just the end, but sometimes the middle.

The Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0 VNs both made me cry several times

The only Anime that I'd say truly saddened my heart for a few days was "Your Lie In April" (Shigatsu Wa Kimi No Uso)

So I'd have to say yes it affected me but It was positive overall :)

ps: I did shed a few tears for this series

Yes, and more often in a positive way. Sweetness & Lighting was a more recent one I could relate to where I left feeling confidant and motivated.

I cried a lot at the end of Love Live! Sunshine. I have no clue how it affected me so much, but it did. I can't think of any other anime series that made me cry, let alone as much as that.

As far as visual novels go, I second the crying at Steins;Gate, but the one that had the biggest effect on me was definitely Umineko no naku koro ni. To the point where I feel like I'm a bit better of a person thanks to that series.

The last episode of the first series of Magic Knight Rayearth. It's thought-provoking and puts everything into a new perspective. Same thing with episode 10 of Madoka Magica.

You have to read the manga for it, but the heart crushing end of Girl's Last Tour reminded me why I bother to go on living.

GLT is pretty short too, the manga doesn't go on very long after what the anime covered.

Occasionally, one hits me so hard in some way I fall in love with it ...

Blue Drop, Anohaha, Black Bullet, WorldEnd, The Princess and the Pilot, The Pilots Love Song, Black Butler: Book of Circus, Angel Beats, Plastic Memories and Valvrave the Liberator all ripped my heart out by the end. It wasn't always crying or even tearing up but just like being left with a whole in my heart.

Barakamon, Poco's Udon World, Sweetness and Lightning, Sakura Trick and www.wagnaria all left me smiling in the end.
