Curiosity plays hand in hand with knowledge. As a person becomes more curious on his/her surroundings, his/her understanding towards how the world works... increases. Stupid people in the other hand which posses low amount of curiosity just has a low understanding on how the world works thus... carries less burden on the shoulders. As the burden lessen, the more they could live life freely and again... happy. Smart people are usually the one who cleans after the stupid people's mess... The one that worries, the one that thinks too much, the one who makes everything their problem instead of everyone's. In conclusion, smart people just realises many factors that a stupid person will never realise. In return, is caught up in problem's of reality than focusing on making themselves happy.

"Smart" people would be defined as those definitly who display curiosity. Those who ponder and question are the ones who recieve the answers, you will not recieve if you do not seek. In the case of "stupid" people you have no concern in what happens or what goes, whatever will happen will and whatever wont wont occur. But while that is true it is possible that the "smart" person is not gifted at all, what if the case was in future investment? Then the "smart" person will be able to enjoy life and be happy due to hard work and careful planning while the stupid person might just go out and spend it all...soon enough they will be in debt and their life will turn right back around. There really is no smart or stupid person in exception to handicaps, everyone is given equal potential; it is only that we are at different levels due to the certain talents we receieve with the potential and how we use those talents and how inquisitive we are. This topic is too vague and cannot be determined fully due to the numerous possibilities, however from my personal experiences I would believe that "smart" people tend to live "happier" lives.

The question is rather simple, but let me explain so it becomes more complicated!

I have a book : How I became stupid by Martin Page, witch was excellent by the way, and his theory was : to be too smart will cause a lot of trouble, of pain, endless night thinking over and over about questions without answer.
And the guy decides to become stupid to get rid of his troubles (of the problems in the world that he always makes his own). After attempting to become alcoholic, to get a lobotomia, (both failed), he decides to become stupid by taking drugs (anti-depressors and tranquilizers) and the plan works. He can sleep again, buy clothes that are made by children in africa, eat platified food that pollutes more than it feeds, he even finds a job and eventually get rich.

So the question is : is it better to be blind - ignorant and happy, than to see - understand the ugliness ?

That is not happiness, that is ignorance. Drugs are not to be used for such thing. To think is better than to deny your reality. I don't think that the word "stupid" describes him on drugs. Drugs like anti-depressents just fogs thinking and change brain chemistry. It causes euphoria but the moment you to off it you fall deeper into "unhappiness" than you were before. The moment he goes off of it he will slowly go back to what he calls unhappiness. It is necessary to see and understand the ugliness to rid yourself of it.

Well sometimes I does envied with stupid people. I been thinking in class that :'Lucky for those people who already got F, they don't care for anythings involved school . And the people that get A or B need to maintain their grade bacause afraid of going down"
So maybe getting an F can be happy and carefree .

Smart people worry about all the problems in existence. Truly smart people know about it and dont care. Or would those be jerks? Either way, I'm overly intelligent and I'm happy.

I think intelligent people are more likely to consider all the possible downsides to something before acting, and thus keeping themselves from having fun with drugs, boys/girls and criminality.

I think the guy has a problem with his concience not with his intelligence. If he really thought about it he would realise he could ultimatly not change anything and would not bother with it.

ps: my spelling is awesome mkay.

I based this completely from experience....

From the time I learned how to read, about when I was 2 and a half years old. I had a unstoppable thirst for knowledge. I'm fifteen now and I already know to much.. Intelligence makes you think too much making you paranoid, pessimistic etc. so intelligence makes you unhappy...

yep..it is hard indeed to happy especially when you understand everything...
but if you're smart indeed...the only way to make yourself happy is just be contented that you are intelligent already compared to others...
take it as a blessing....

Being too smart doesn't mean you have to spend nights thinking over unanswered questions. If you are smart, you should know that lack of sleep can affect your health dramatically even within a few weeks XD. Anyway that's not the point, it's just not worth it to worry about other people's beeswax, when you can't fix 99% of the problems anyway. Yes, knowledge is good, worrying over problems that others will fix is not your task. Having knowledge of the "ugliness" as you referred is great (but why only think of the negative things in this world?), avoid having any involvement in the ugliness is way better being paranoid and worried.
I think he became a little smarter (not the drugs part/gross food) by living a much more carefree and relaxing life.
