Lucky Star portrays the lives of several school girls attending a Japanese high school with a very loose humor tone. The main heroine is Konata Izumi, an athletic and intelligent girl who, despite these attributes, is not in a sports club, and her grades remain low. Her laziness at school is due to her love for anime and video games, and is not interested in much else. The serialization began with the four main characters in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. As the story progresses, they move onto their second and third year.

This anime is filled to the brim with humor and comedy based on the "slice of life" plot style. Originally written as a daily manga, it was eventually seriealized and eventually, the anime was created. The series takes place in Kasukabe, Saitama, just north of Tokyo, to which the city if featured predominatly and accuratly throughout the series. Yoshito Usui, the creator or Lucky Star, also lives in Kasukabe.

The animation and background musical styles are very appropriate and only add to the overall feel of the series. The storyline, although already taken care of by the manga, is still very well done for the anime and holds true to the original. I must say that, although I wasnt into it at first, Lucky Star quickly became one of my favorites. I found it to be humorous and fun to watch; and this is the ONLY anime, so far, that I have watch the entire beginning, or opening credits, every single time. Lucky Star is also responsible for getting me interested in other animes of the same style such as Ichigo Mashimuro and Minami-ke.

Lucky Staaar!

Yeah, just wow. Complete randomness in this anime. High school girls are in it, but they talk about the same things and more of which High school girls talk about. Naturally because of Konata, the main character, who's an anime fan. Aya Hirano also starred in this anime, so it had many references back to Haruhi Suzumiya.

Otherwise, it's a good anime to just sit, relax, and look for a good laugh.

looks like i'm into those conversation type anime. i'm totally in love with lucky star 10/10 for me.

having no storyline makes re-watching a joy imho. i can just pick any episode and watch and not be lost due to forgetting what happened in last ep. and don't have to watch it in any order. and importantly, having a storyline makes re-watching kinda boring since u already know the plot/story. re-watching for the comedy seems to have a different effect on me

The very 1st episode of this anime killed my interest. Hearing high praises of this anime and sneak peeks of hilarious scenes of this anime held my expectations high. The 1st episode was filled with random (and boring) chatting which took up most of the anime.

I will recommend azumanga daioh over this. Period.

I shunned this anime after seeing the title...i mean it says Lucky Star, and i don't really like picking up random titles.. However, after watching the first episode, i was (really, no joke) ROFL.

Good stress relief. Don't expect anything since its all random talk. The OP is catchy =)
