hmmm true love...i think its like a state where there is eternal bliss and content in a relationship.....lol which is really unusual cuz ppl just go for it only bcuz of the sexual intimacy not the actual emotions between then....

sorry muffins, but that will never happen. to anyone. especially you, because you suck...i mean...it will never happen to anyone.

love is a chemical working inside your brain, becoming something in your entire body, giving you a euphoric feeling, and happiness. thats it. sorry to tell you.

but that doesnt mean it doesnt exist, or it isnt special. i have felt love, and feel it now. whether it is a love for a sibling or parent, for a great friend, for a pet, inanimate object or idea, or obviously, for a person romantically...love is just the reaction of the body. it can be astounding, but it will never be happy forever.

relationships are difficult. if you find a person who you dont argue with, and fight with...you wont last. relationships NEED drama, they create hardship. this hardship brings you closer together. a perfect relationship is not the lack of problems. it is the lack of detrimental effects from problems on the relationship. you work through them, and you either become a stronger couple/group of friends/ family whatever...or you dont, and it falls to tatters. but no matter what, there will be problems. if there are not, there is no relationship.

edit: ahh, and reiki...it is our bestial instinct to go into a relationship only for the procreation. to stay with a person, even though you are unable to have children, do not want children, or what have you defies our own nature. love is far more than sex. sex is instinct. love is not. attraction creates sex. attraction can create love, but you can love without a physical attraction. love is far more than a simple, idealistic belief in \"happy relationship\".

love in an abstraction, which can be defined only through person views, actions, beliefs, histories. what i deem love, and what hitler deemed love, and what mother theresa deemed love would differ vastly.

love is definable...but love is contextual. contextually, it is as indefinable as \"hate\", \"evil\", \"god\", or \"art\".

Well the quote is kinda contradictory since it basically says in order to love some one other people have to love them, so how did the first person love them, and how much since no one else had loved them yet... but I am just picking at it, I guess you take it for what its worth.

To me love is not an emotion; emotions are more like side effects of love. In a way I feel love is a separate entity, kind of similar to feeling "hot" or "cold". It affects people in different ways but the characteristics are similar across the board. A running theory I have on love is that it’s some external object that we each have the opportunity to take a piece of, we all get different pieces but they originate from the same place. That’s why we can all talk about it as being the same thing. I feel the same way about instincts and greed. It boils down to nature vs. nurture. I believe we obtain love through nurture and societal influences rather than being born with it. I also don’t believe in true love because I think given the chance you can apply your share of love in any way you like, and of course reuse it. The problem is getting over the fact that you may have made a mistake and need to try again. Soul mates don't exist because it is very hard to predetermine a person’s life. Small decisions can alter your future so much that its impossible to say "we were meant to be" its more like "some how we ended up together, and I choose to love you" So to wrap it up, love exists, it can be reused, and you shouldn't be afraid to love someone because you think its your one and only shot.

Love is something you can't live without.

Love is something that begins with trust.

Love is there when you feel it is.

Love is precious and it can be everlasting.

I find this to be the most accurate "definition" yet. It's pretty close to what I've believed myself.
