Love is when you have dreams about someone and then they come true and you live happily ever after.

sorry muffins, but that will never happen. to anyone. especially you, because you suck...i mean...it will never happen to anyone.

love is a chemical working inside your brain, becoming something in your entire body, giving you a euphoric feeling, and happiness. thats it. sorry to tell you.

but that doesnt mean it doesnt exist, or it isnt special. i have felt love, and feel it now. whether it is a love for a sibling or parent, for a great friend, for a pet, inanimate object or idea, or obviously, for a person romantically...love is just the reaction of the body. it can be astounding, but it will never be happy forever.

relationships are difficult. if you find a person who you dont argue with, and fight with...you wont last. relationships NEED drama, they create hardship. this hardship brings you closer together. a perfect relationship is not the lack of problems. it is the lack of detrimental effects from problems on the relationship. you work through them, and you either become a stronger couple/group of friends/ family whatever...or you dont, and it falls to tatters. but no matter what, there will be problems. if there are not, there is no relationship.

edit: ahh, and reiki...it is our bestial instinct to go into a relationship only for the procreation. to stay with a person, even though you are unable to have children, do not want children, or what have you defies our own nature. love is far more than sex. sex is instinct. love is not. attraction creates sex. attraction can create love, but you can love without a physical attraction. love is far more than a simple, idealistic belief in \"happy relationship\".

love in an abstraction, which can be defined only through person views, actions, beliefs, histories. what i deem love, and what hitler deemed love, and what mother theresa deemed love would differ vastly.

love is definable...but love is contextual. contextually, it is as indefinable as \"hate\", \"evil\", \"god\", or \"art\".

I don't suck. You only think that I suck because you are a fucktard. Period.

Also you don't know me or my future. Just because you don't like me doesn't mean that I won't be happy in the future so that makes you pretty ignorant to say what you did to me.

Dreams can come true despite what you may think.

Also I think love is more than something that just happens with the brain. I beleive that it has something to do with the soul also.

I know that a lot of people see love as being weak because the moral of our society is down. Not everyone is a sex maniac though.

Also something else I forgot to mention is that I have seen true love before. A good example would be a couple who married each other and then stayed with eachother for the rest of their lives and even died at the exact same time at their home. I don't think it was coincedence either because they were both healthy old people.

Alright, time to bring some reason to this thread...

In 1990, a study in Italy indicated that people who have recently fallen in love have some of the symptoms of 'Obsessive Compulsive Disorder' or OCD. People with OCD behave obsessively about certain things. They might be constantly washing their hands, or need to continually check to see if the door is closed.

Obsessively thinking about someone is a pretty sure sign of love. Love is...obsession.

Love on the brain
Brain imaging techniques have been put to use in the name of love. Andreas Bartels and Semir Zeki at University College London used functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to take pictures of the lover's brain.

Whilst inside the scanner, loved-up students were shown pictures of their new flame. They were also shown images of platonic friends of the opposite sex. Zeki and Bartels were struck by how clear cut the pattern of brain activity was when students were looking at their new love.

Four areas of the brain became active, and one area noticeably inactive, when the students had love on their mind. The active areas include one responsible for 'gut' feelings and one that is known to respond to euphoria-inducing drugs. The lights go off however, in the prefrontal cortex, an area that is overactive in depressed patients.

Love is...Dopamine, Norepinephrine, & Serotonin.
Don't give yourself delusions, there is a almost always a clear difference between 'being in love' and those feelings you have after being married for 30 years.

Love is...something, few of us can handle in it's truest form.

Chemical highs are nice, but they usually fade, memories and events created from loving relationships, can last much longer than generations of men.

Great songs about love:
"Yeah, Whatever"-Splender, pretty much sums up dysfunctional relationships of all kinds.

While "Tales of Brave Ulysses"-Cream, is for those more harmonious couples(not responsible for any pregnancies )

I must understand love very well then because I was always a pretty apathetic type of a guy. Anyways, I remember watching Xena a few years back and they defined it as 'natures trick into getting you to have sex', I dunno if its true or not, but I think I'm a romantic so I surprisingly find myself believing in the conventional mushy definitions of love.
