I actually kept running into a Trojan that would try to download itself to my computer every time I changed pages. Before I had a better Anti-virus, it would redirect me to a page when I had just logged in that had a large AD and I had to close Firefox and re-open Firefox, log back in and go to the streams I wanted to see. Then it started not loading the page that the AD once used to be on. If it shows up recently, my anti-virus quarantines it.

I heard that people can write viruses into media streams, so that if you click play you watch the movie while it silently downloads itself to your computer. Is this true?

So that explains "something's gone" feeling. I don't mind ads (nor do I miss it. I like ad-free cr as well), as they basically disappear once I click "larger". The only annoying ads are those that redirects me to some software download sites and those that seems to be pop-up - my anti-virus blocks it anyway.

im not catching half as many viruses now that the ads are off, maybe on of hose sites was giving them to me, although i never clicked them...
