No... look at the Falklands War, Suez, basically any mission they have been involved in other than peacekeeping missions, and even some of those were dreadful failures (the NATO force in the Balkans arrived far too late to prevent the slaughter of ethnic Albanians)

Just to say the falkland war was a success does it belong to Argintina now no it is still Brtish we won. The NATO missions every country envolved would be to blame not just Britian.

Well at least the British army is better trained and more disciplined than the American army, I mean during the Iraq war itself more British troops were killed by friendly fire from Americans than were killed by the Iraqis! Americans are somewhat trigger happy. Generally speaking the British army is one of the most advanced in the world its just its small. Oh and we check before we pull the trigger (unlike the Americans). Oh and we have the S.A.S.

They may have won, but they did not win the hearts and minds of the British people. It was not a moral victory. In offensive warfare no one is in the right, subsequently, according to my world schema, they failed at the "aim of war" - bringing more happiness. (not that I'd say it does).

Actually I think you'll find it did win the heart and minds of the British people, I should know i'm am studying it, it was a clever success for the Margret Thatcher, she need that 'War' (technically it was a conflict) to stay in power, and also the people on the Falklands themselves didn't want to be under the rule of Argentina, they were quite happy being under the British Flag.

British!
We've always been the best Militarily, Navy and Airforce wise.

To the British's favor, is that Britain is an Island, so for attempting invaders, you basicly have your work cut out for you. Also, there used to be a time when Britain ruled at least 1/2 of the world. Definitely one of the best trained armies along side other than the some of the African and Asian armies, who cut off your fingers for punishment and stuff and also the British generally have better manners than the Americans. How many people would just walk by a person wounded in NY compared to a person wounded in London, I bet you what you like that the guy in London would be taken to hospital by a group of random passers by faster than in the NY.

To all you British haters, I have three words for you...

Suck My Balls

Ahem before anyone starts talking about Nukes, I'll think you'll find that the American Army really have no right to say the British would nuke first...... I'm talking about WW2 here.

I would just like to say we went and fought for those Islands because they wanted to stay British we already had the Hearts and minds of the people thier they wanted us to fight for them. Which is why the Forces are still there. :)

The British forces are the best trained in the world. We hold many current records for accuracy, tactical and supportive roles and honours. We hold the most records for completed course times and statitically we are the smartest force with are signal and engineering corps. We have done less damage to the war areas as we don't go and bomb the place to hell, nor have we shot any allies. I'll say it here i am British but i'm only giving facts. We are always called to war because of our skills. Who cried for help when they went into Iraq? They wouldn't have done so if we hadn't joined them and allowed them to use are equipment which is assembled and programmed in Britain. We don't have the numbers but we don't need them.

I just thought of another question.

the only other spec ops better than the special air or boat services are the french foreign legion and delta force

but as far as infantry and marines go england are the elite, we're small but what we lack in quantity we have tenfold in quality

despite all this the british have the best military history in the world in my opinion!
we've won tonnes of the worlds most well known wars such as WW1 and WW2 in which we played a major role unlike some of the partner countries
our forces today although not as big as others are extremely well trained and well disciplined, in particular the Royal Air Force.
Our Navy used to be the greatest and largest navy in the world not even america could beat it
