Nothing much really... I was asked by a friend to make this topic... which I think is quite a good thing to discuss...

Well...In times when you need to decide or in serious times who do you follow? Your parent's wants or will? or your OWN will?

...for me... I often follow my parent's will... because I trust them so much, that I think all there decisions for me is for my own good too...

I`m sorry can you elaborate on the topic. Just seems a little to vague for me... Do mean would you take the path which got your parents where they are... Or make decisions based on your conscious mind?

you're fourteen that' why
I'm 27 i follow my own will.
i've lived with enough things to know my experiances make me stronger.
I if i don't know what to do in a situation, (something i've never done before) if i'm doing something major, like buying a home, them i discuss with non associated third parties, to get their opinion, and then make up my own mind from what informatino they give me..
it's better to use your own head for the situations you get into.. but after you've had some world experiances,

::smiles::

Yea as usual we get vague answers. Can people elaborate *reading posts*.
Ok I`m only 17 go on 18. I barely need the opinion of my parent to succesfully make a decision. I mean i`ve got enough intelligence to percieve my next move. All I see life as a chess board. Just making my moves with the suggestions of other to have better insight. I`ve seen the issues that my parents have succumbed to. I believe in my own decisions. For example , I`m presently a minor stock holder that has about 20,000 in stocks and bonds. I made these decisions on my own. I didn't need an adult that created me but barely knows the world to enlighten me. Referring to "the older you are the wiser you are" is not consistently accurate. Mine is "the older you are the more brain cells you lose making you useless". So in response to the topic I rather rely on mine and third parties to get a better map to life. Not parents that take a separate path.

::::thumbs up hoorah::::

One last thing, This is your future not theirs and this is a new generation.. So they will need just as much insight on the world you both live in. Its not like it was 30 years ago.

I do have to agree... despite my parents putting a roof over my head, providing me with food, etc. Most of the critical decisions in my life, that have shaped me into the person I am, have been made by me. Most of my life, I've spent on making my own decisions because my parents were always working... My dad was in the navy and my mom was a straight-up work-a-holic who wouldn't take days to come see the few performances I've had in my life. I may sound bitter but if anything... I've made all my decisions up until this point. Also, despite me being only eighteen, I really don't need them to tell me what to do anymore... they really don't understand the way certain things work anymore... besides as the other people have stated before me, I value third party decisions and my own much more.

I also find it ironic how after all this time now... my parents are so interested in every little detail of my life... and want to be involved so badly... when I don't really need them as much as I needed them when I was seven-fifteen. Really ironic... don't you think?
