Yukito Kunisaki is on a journey, seeking a girl with wings who flies in the sky, as mentioned in a childhood tale. During this journey, he settles down in a small town, trying to make some money. There, he meets a strange girl named Misuzu. Misuzu quickly makes Yukito her friend and invites him to stay with her. Yukito decides to stay in the small town, and continue searching for the winged girl his mother had searched for in her life.

Since this series is licensed, it is not on CR. Instead, as with all animes that are not on CR due to licensing, you can go to Veoh.com and watch it there.

Air is a beautifully unique anime that is very touching and can be extremely sad in the end, almost to the same level if not on par with Sola and Chrno Crusade. The animation for the show itself is top notch and the music is absolutely wonderful. The series takes place in Kami, Hyogo, a small town in the Hyogo district located on the sea of japan, just North East of Tottori. The town, the school, the beach and even its surrounding regions are featured prominently and accurately within series.

The story is divided into three arcs - Dream, Summer and Air - which play a big role in how the story is told and how you will come to understand it. The vivid story line and character interactions really makes you feel for the characters as the story progresses and although it begins well, the story starts to become a little confusing near the end of the first arc, "Dream". However, all questions are answered within the middle "Summer" arc and at the end with the "Air" arc. All in all though, the central theme of the show is very melancholy and sad, which even shows throughout the animation and background music. However, if you can push past that, it becomes very enjoyable. If you enjoyed shows such as Sola (used as reference), then this show is a must watch.

First off the music to this anime was perfect for the anime. Everytime I hear Tori no Uta, the Air opening theme, I get shivers cause of the reminders of the saddness this anime produced. Personally I actually thought this anime would have been more effective if it would have been shorter. It brings you to what seems to be the ending climax then basically restarts from the crows point of view. After you get back to the spot where it restarted from, the anime gets really good and really sad. One of the reasons that this anime is so sad is at the end the tragedy that the charachters are trying to stop accures in one of the saddest scenes I've ever watched. Its actually quite depressing cause all the efforts and struggles of the charachters is basically for naught. The animation is beautiful and all the characters are all likeable, well minus those cursed monks. This is a very memorable series that is very much worth watching.

I love this anime. Even though there're still doubts left for me at the end of the series, it's very impressive and very touching. The ending of this series can jerk your tears easily.

You mustn't miss it if you love Kanon 2006 and Clannad. Anyway, this series is more drama oriented than the other two.(If you doesn't include two special episodes). When you finished it don't forget to watch the other two special episodes: Air in Summer!!

Kyoto animation is truly my favourite studio.

PS. How about Air movie by Toei animation? Have anybody watched it?

This anime was so beautiful the music.. the characters... the story...and yet completely heartbreaking. Why is it that most beaufiful things make you cry ? I totally recommend it but I wish there was a way to warn a person without giving away the ending like PREPARE YOURSELF!

I found the anime boring. I never got the chance to finish this series, maybe because of the plot itself being boring. But I gotta praise its music and bgm's, I liked most of them.

I think it was really good. the art was great and so was the story. The music was perfect for it and I think most anime fans should give it a try. Personally, I think it was sad around the end. I cried at the end. Great story, but sad end.
