Honestly only the ones who cosplays, make small models of anime, and takes anime obsessions to the extreme scares me...seriously its just anime no need to play it out in real life.

otakus, in the strict (jap) sense, can be kind of scary coz some tend to be violent. and they're really anti-social to the point that they won't come out of their rooms.. i once watched a documentary about otakus and there was one family who never saw their son for like 2 years coz he won't come out of his room whenever his family is around. it's really sad. it's a good thing that there's a center that was established to rehabilitate extreme otakus and help them develop social skills.
but the otakus as depicted in dramas are fine with me coz even if they're really weird, they still get along with some people |

i really wanted to be an otaku-like person. but staying inside my room for two years and being anti-social? never!
