psh, the commander General has nothing on the Tenchi Series' Character ages

Washu, "the greatest scientist that ever lived", alone is 20,000 years old
and she's not even by far the oldest

as for the youngest, isn't the girl from Aishiteru Baby younger than Konohamaru?

from the way he acts, it doesn't seem like it
Bleach is a "realistic" anime, meaning it's somewhat based on our world
i doubt he's over 20,000 years old

especially because of the way he acts
the human race in reality is not that old. and our ancestors weren't as 'cultured' as the general

by the way he acts, i'd say he died around the time of Tokugawa, or maybe perhaps around the time the samurai first emerged in japan

Washu, however, is from a fantasy universe, the author has stated her age(an intellect for the matter), making her more credible for the position of "oldest" (only because i don't even remember the names of the older characters from the series.. and i've never watched an anime or read a manga with characters surpassing even 1000 years, if their age was even defined)

i quoted realistic so that it can be interpreted loosely
i know it's not "realistic", hence why i quoted it
but Bleach, take Ichigo for example, he lives in Japan, and a pretty modern one, ghosts "exists" in our world, just as it exists in the Bleach world

and shinigamis, are pretty much based on the Angels or Heaven most religions sought to believe in
the shinigamis are all older than 100 years, mostly because they already died.... if you died and went to heaven, time will age you, no matter how old/young you stay, physically

now, since they died. based on what we have seen on Ichigo's "Japan", the Bleach Earth is somewhat similar to our real world
now, if it's somewhat similar, then the history is somewhat similar.. humanity is not that old in our world... and with each age, each group of people acted very differently or "more cultured"
hence it's "realistic"

now, as for the Tenchi.
Washu came from a galaxy that doesn't even exists
her culture is very different from any known Earth Cultures
she doesn't even dress the same
their technology is by far, different from ours
theirs' involves Giant Trees(that seemingly has a life/mind of its own) as a source of machine power, prophecies, and weapons of mass destruction
hence she is a fantasy
Washu has never died... yet she still lived for 20,000 years

It still bothers me how early in the series they say she is really old and afterwards they never seem to remember that statement.

After all she is still the same naive/childish person 160 episodes in. Whether or not being a soul reaper halts mental progression would be the case here.

ALSO, the fact that the people in seretei are all extremely old since they are dead.. does that have anything to do with the fact that they don't age? or age slower?
