I'm more of a Crust Punk guy. Skullkrusher, Scum Noise, Extreme Noise Terror, Driller Killer, .etc There's a severe lack of users who listen to heavy music like Death, Black, Doom, Prog in here which sucks. Anyone up for an official metal thread?

I happen to really like Minor Threat of course Fugazi (also teen idles), Ian MacKaye is my hero! Yes, I happen to be straight edge so I like 7 seconds, government issue, earth crisis, youth brigade things of the sort. but don't get me wrong I still have room for Dead kennedys, black flag, fear, husker du, Naked ray gun... lol Fear is one of the funniest bands to see live, they spit and insult the crowd, its fuckin hillarious.

First show I ever went to was G.B.H (later changed to Charged G.B.H) the song that god me hooked was Bellend Bop, it was kinda rockabilly and everyone was having a good time, awesome. First vinyl I ever got was The Germs of course Ramones as well.

But anywho, Punks changed so much since then, there are good bands out there but its hard to think of one. I happen to like Dropkick Murphys, despite the heavy drinking, the typical irish stereotype. Is it just me or is punk dead? say it ain't so!

It is a good list, I like a lot of bands on there, but personally I'd take off primus and screeching weasel, Ben Weasel is such an elitist fuck. He made a list of what a "real punk" would be wearing, leather jackets torn blue jeans, no back packs, no blah blah blah. totally fucking OBNOXIOUS. but I have to say his EMO album was a good one, also My Brains Hurt. I was a fan until I found out he was such an ass.

How could I forget to put OP Ivy on my list.

Oh shit, I forgot Op Ivy too, and the Suicide Machines. Well I only like the Destruction by Definition CD album by the Suicide Machines. It was amazing, and then the other two albums that I heard(I think they were both 2000 albums) were not good. D=

Suicide Machines are good, the only album that I bought was the self titled, everything else was on mix tape. The thing that cracks me up is that they have this ska feel to their music and they have some heavy songs, they still manage to have dorky songs like "sometimes I don't mind" it sounds like he's singing about a girl but its really his dog, then they have a song called I hate everything... I don't know if its supposed to be serious, he goes on saying fuck the birds and the trees, classic angry at the world shit.

How about the descendents? Thats pop punk at its finest or rather, thats as pop-ish that I'll go.

Haven't really gotten the chance to listen to them yet, although I have the album 'I don't want to grow up'. A friend gave it to me.

I don't get the "punk" idea. I mean the clothers and the anarchy thoughts..
Tho I don't get metal clothings, emo or pop stuff/ clothers either so it doesn't matter ^^'

I listen some punk bands. Some finnish small band and The Offspring, which has been called a punk band sometime, neh?

I'm not a punk but everyone keep calling me one. I don't wear punk style clothes or act like a punk or think like a punk but oh well..

At least here, in Finland, punk is alive. Just because some of you says punk is dead.. There are still small groups which make punk music and plays 'em at some punk parties etc etc. And the home made beer is important thing in those parties too.

But as I said - I dunno much about punk and I don't feel it intresting so I'm not into learn more about it :p
