Japan is like Hawaii or somewhere different from America. I agree, the grass is always greener on the other side. People in Japan want to come here and vice versa. America is not the best, but it's good. Most people are able to survive and breath! The diversity in some parts of America is great. People are very vibrant and different.

What would it be like if I was born in Japan? I would never know. I sure as hell wouldn't be who I am today. Most people get the "want to go to Japan" because of popular culture. Ehh, I feel like there's too much of a glass ceiling in Japan for women. I'd rather stay here, in America

Asian obsessed people would like to be born there. Idk it seems like Japan is a fad, and the people who are crazy about it, just know about the media japan and what they watch. Im sure once you are a resident/ citizen it is different from what you imagined. A few friends of mine went there for 2 weeks, and they said the culture change was big, and a week visit is sufficient, any more and it would be pushing it. I am asian, born in California, i guess i wouldnt mind being born in my cultural background country, but im fine with how things are.

Eh, I guess it would be nice to go to Japan, but that doesn't necessarily mean I dislike the country I'm living in. I guess it would be fun to go to Japan and explore a new culture. It never hurts to try new things.

in my opinion, being half japanese.. and listening to u guys opinions, i agree with most of the ppl, but totally opposite... i lived in Japan for 10 years, and then i moved to Korea.. first i thought it was really awesome, after week or so, i got tired of seeing trash and dog poops on streets(it's true.. worse than Japan) and language difference.. and start to miss Japan.. and after 5 years of life in Korea(kimchi is awesom), i moved to USA with a bigass house, sure sure nice! but guess what? i started to miss Korea and Japan where my house is lik 2min walk from convinience stores!! in USA, everything is so far away, we got to use a car..so inconvinient!!! I MISS JAPAN and korea... and Japanese and Korean snacks.. lol

ok this is my opinion..

If you think more realistically, America has a lot more opportunities in everything you do from jobs to recreation.
It also has better welfare programs and one of the best economies out their
In addition, it is probably the only country that can stand as a superpower alone

I'm glad I was NOT born in Japan. I'm proud to be myself, and it would suck terribly if my life was so bad that I had to wish I was born somewhere else. First of all, I still know Japanese, can travel to Japan whenever I like, am very proficient in English, like anime, everything. Also, their food is soooo nasty. No offense, but it's just too different from what I'm used to. I do like a fair amount of it, but there's some stuff that just doesn't agree with me. Eel/Shark Fin soup? Nothx. There's a number of other things, but just because it tastes fine doesn't make it superior to delicacies I already love like the club sandwich. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.....
Another thing, Japanese music has bad taste. I don't know what I would do if I had never heard of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, the Beatles, etc. I don't specifically like those common rock/blues bands, there are others too, but when you listen to Japanese music you can tell the lyrics are pronounced differently(hope nobody is stupid enough to crack a joke like "duhr, its a dif language"). There's more, too, but I'll stop there. I think Japan is an awesome place I would like to go to and possibly live in, but I certainly wouldn't want to wish I was born there instead of here... So yeah, Canada pwns just too much. My next choices would be Japan, New Zealand, Sweden, and the list goes on but I think those would be my top picks.
