How do you choose your buddy?

I only buddy ppl that I see are online a lot. Also if they like at least 3-5 of the same manga or anime that I like. The only thing I could care less about and don't even check is a persons gender. Don't know why but I buddied someone a long time ago and talked to them for like 3 days and didn't notice it was a girl until they said xoxo to me. Lol man I'm weird.
