Touring cars. SPEED World Challenge, BTCC, and WTCC especially. Touring series generally have the most closely matched performance between various models, and therefore the most competition throughout the year. You don't see as much single make/single team domination as you do in GT or Formula series. Touring cars are also the closest to the production versions of any major form of racing. (Except, possibly, Group N rally, where the cars are nearly stock, except for safety equipment.)

I'm also a big GT and Sports Car fan, and Le Mans is naturally my life's goal.

i know alot of people will rip at me for saying this but what is so exciting about watching cars go in a straight line or in a circle???? i can't eve nstand watching NASCAR cuz it gets so boring after like the first 5min of starting and drag is just to boring to just watch 2 cars go down a straight lane.

Old School trans-am racing. Mid 60's - 1970 had the best racing ever to this day. Imagine a full field of muscle/pony cars going at it on road courses, often bumping and powersliding (dorifto!) their way around. I had the privilege to watch a vintage race not too long ago and it had an epic finish - mustang, camaro, and chalenger going three wide into the final turn which was only 2 lanes wide. The guy in the challenger figured "Well it's going to slide anyways, might as well use the grass". That's right, the challenger drifted the final turn on the grass to mix it up with the camaro and mustang in a 3-way drag race for the finish. The camaro won by the pointy part of its hood. :D

Now THAT is real racing

Some suitably epic images

CAR and motorcycle road racing (minus NASCAR and drag racing) and rallying. ^^^ Loved those vintage Trans-Am (no, not Gundam 00!) photos. (The Camaro had a acid-dipped body shell...)
