hello there! long time member, first (actually not anymore, I even got reported for using the wrong section xD) time poster!

anyway! I was wondering if anyone actually likes the background music anime's usually have (silly question, I know!)
that's because well, I've found this one song I'm especially in love with but I can't find it anywhere, no matter what I try (not talking about OP/ED of course!)

so, as the title says, the show playing that particular music is "SKET Dance"!

For those who are still wondering which is the song I'm talking about: you can find it on the very beginning of the anime itself (0:00 of ep1), it's played throughout many episodes (almost any time they're doing something cool that music starts and makes whatever they're up to simply...amazing...at least to me that is!) and, lastly, you can hear a "long version" of it in the last episode which came out this week (ep 54 @ 17:48)

so uhm, does anyone happen to know the song or, by chance, is willing to help me and find its title?

I'd appreciate any help you guys could give me :)

Thanks in advance and happy show-watching everyone!

It may or may not be here but this list might help you, http://vgmdb.net/album/31327 It might be too old to be on it, but you said it was in episode 1 so it could be there. You might be able to find each song by just putting the song name and sket dance into youtube. I haven't watched the show, so I really know nothing about it, just trying to help.

Thanks, will try and check those names (there are some which were not listed on wiki, hopefully the song I'm looking for is among those titles..)

again, thanks for the pointers ^^

It's fanart of Tenri Ayukawa from The World God Only Knows (the manga, that is - she only made very brief cameo appearances in the anime). Here's the link to the picture on the artist's deviantART page: http://theworldgodonlyknows.deviantart.com/#/d4abr0o

Can you guys help me out?
I want to get into Gurren Lagann, but I cant decide between the anime and the manga.
I always prefer the manga because its usually the original source, but when its anime only I watch the anime.
The problem I have is that Gurren Lagann is an anime with a manga adaption, so I cant decide which format too read/watch.

The anime is the original version, so I would watch the anime. But the manga seems to have more story.
Anyone can help me? Please

The anime tbh.
The fights would be more epic if you could actually see them move.

But from a point of view of someone who prefers the manga because the story is better there than the anime (because most anime are based on the manga), which version shall I see/watch?
Thanks anyways

Always refer to the source/canon. Anime version usually suffer from adaptation decay.

But since the anime is the original source, would that mean that the manga would suffer from adaptation decay? Because I heard the manga version actually has more story than the anime, making things complicated for me....

Actually, its the other way around. Anime usually derive from manga, novel or visual novels and when it is adapted to anime, some of the scenes and dialogues are either omitted, added or mashed together. One of the most notable example of adaptation decay is Tsukihime which is so bad and so distant from the original material(Visual Novel) that Tsukihime fans denied its existence hence the 'thereisnotsukihimeanime' meme.

In some uncommon cases, the anime is the original material and when it is adapted to manga it suffers from adaptation decay(e.g. Mai-Hime, Mai-Otome and Vandread manga)

I hope this will clear up some misunderstanding.

What? Yeah, I know! Thats why I always read the manga instead of the anime.
The problem I have is that Gurren Lagann is an anime with a manga adaption, AKA the opposite case.
So as I always prefer the original version because its the "full" version, I would watch the anime, right?
The problem is that I heard the manga has more story than the anime adaption, which would be an exception.
Thats my question. Is it true that Gurren Lagann has more story in the manga than the anime?
Thank you anyways.

Sorry, I didn't read your initial post. Guren Lagann manga version story is basically the same except that it s more in-depth and more character development compare to its anime counterpart. So yeah its true.
