The Anime/Manga HELP Thread

But from a point of view of someone who prefers the manga because the story is better there than the anime (because most anime are based on the manga), which version shall I see/watch?
Thanks anyways |

Thanks anyways Always refer to the source/canon. Anime version usually suffer from adaptation decay. |

I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

But since the anime is the original source, would that mean that the manga would suffer from adaptation decay? Because I heard the manga version actually has more story than the anime, making things complicated for me....

Because I heard the manga version actually has more story than the anime, making things complicated for me.... Actually, its the other way around. Anime usually derive from manga, novel or visual novels and when it is adapted to anime, some of the scenes and dialogues are either omitted, added or mashed together. One of the most notable example of adaptation decay is Tsukihime which is so bad and so distant from the original material(Visual Novel) that Tsukihime fans denied its existence hence the 'thereisnotsukihimeanime' meme. In some uncommon cases, the anime is the original material and when it is adapted to manga it suffers from adaptation decay(e.g. Mai-Hime, Mai-Otome and Vandread manga) I hope this will clear up some misunderstanding. |

What? Yeah, I know! Thats why I always read the manga instead of the anime.
The problem I have is that Gurren Lagann is an anime with a manga adaption, AKA the opposite case. So as I always prefer the original version because its the "full" version, I would watch the anime, right? The problem is that I heard the manga has more story than the anime adaption, which would be an exception. Thats my question. Is it true that Gurren Lagann has more story in the manga than the anime? Thank you anyways. |

Thank you anyways. Sorry, I didn't read your initial post. Guren Lagann manga version story is basically the same except that it s more in-depth and more character development compare to its anime counterpart. So yeah its true. |

If you google it, there's a similar gif that comes out. Plus, the background was the one that gave it away. http://thijsterhaar.tumblr.com/ |
