There's an anime adaptation of this but she didn't turn into a vampire.

It was about a girl with red eyes who was half demon. She fought other demons together with some other guys and she used a big ass sword. It's not Blood + btw...

The description that you gave is too broad(too generic) to narrow down. Can you spare me some more details, some unique trait on that anime that stood out from the rest? Or at least the name of the TV station that you are watching 10 years ago.

More details would be good, anything like hair color or what sort of setting(modern day vs. fantasy land). Otherwise the only thing I can think of that comes close is Spectral Force, but that princess uses a scythe rather than a sword. http://myanimelist.net/anime/1585/Spectral_Force/
