I was taught by a friend how to do this so this is my fighting style.

Oh really? Please don't act like you understand everything. Some people do Martial Arts because they wanna work out and become healthy, not necessarily have to be in a fight. Do you see the difference between this thread and just general Martial Arts? Some people consider doing Martial Arts because they look at it like a sport. They don't fight, they just do it.

Most people "in a ranodm street fight" always go for the "wrestling tactcs" they come at you and grab you and bring you to the floor and try to get on top and hit you, i hate fights like that, thats why whenever i get into a fight, i always try to avoid grabs, usually waiting for your opponent to hit first, and dodging it by dodging down or dodging back (if they throw a punch) then after that theres a split second there for you to strike them back. (usually if you hit them hard enough they won't be able to strike you back so you can continue your barrage after that.)

I like to use a combination of martial arts:

Tae-Kwon-Do
Boxing
Muay Thai
Kung Fu

Tae Kwon Do teaches me flexibility, range and innate kicking ability
Boxing allows me to know how to use my fists when close range is considered
Muay Thai teaches me power in general and how to make your attacks hurt a lot
Kung Fu teaches me vital points of the body and allows me to be able to know where to hit and where not to

Being a jack of all trades and a master at none I believe to be able to learn as much as possible is a good advantage for me. I'm actually gonna learn Jujitsu soon so that I can properly counter aggresive strikes ^^

Don't get all fucking pissy you little shit. You asked how do they fight. You never asked WHO or if they HAVE fought so shut the fuck up.

Secondly if they take a fucking martial arts class its pretty fucking obvious they are going to use that style in a fight unless its some worthless shit like karate or tae kwon do run by white people.

Please understand I'm not trying to start a flame war here.
Actually, I've asked "Where or when are your skills effective at?", which is a little bit general, but can still be implied as "who" or "have".

No... O.o, there's some old people in my Kung Fu school... they do it for exercising.

Yeah, I don't like grabbing fights at all. But that's one way to know that we're still not experienced enough because we're scared of it.

Uh...You've never been in a real fight then. The most effective form of fighting is actually the wrestling tactics. Those of us who have been in a lot of REAL fights know this. That's why most martial artists will lose against a brawler. We know how to effectively grab ahold. Keep your head low, go for the lower torso. Arms wide and move quick. Then again, those of us who are actually fighters don't fight for honor, we fight to win. I have no issues punching a guy in the nuts to have him expose his jaw or throat.

Jujitsu and Muay Thai are pretty much the only really popular martial arts that are useful in a street fight. The reasons behind that are because they are very aggressive or handle other aggressive fighters.

Do you have your own style? (Ex: Street-fighting)
What do you specialize in?
Where or when are your skills effective at?

Everything can be put into the Martial Arts thread except the last one.

na even the last one. u can dissucss where u use ur martail arts and what it does

You guys can debate on this all night but if a mod feels like he or she should lock it , he or she will .
You guys should stop debating . It might turn into a war later on .

Its not that i can't do it, i wrestle pretty good, but i prefer to have a battle upright, (through all of my fighting experiences whenever someone manages to bring me to the ground in a sort of wrestling match its usually easy for me to get the dominant position - which is where you can reach your opponents face, and they cannot reach yours.)

Well, not always, because it takes some distance for you to grab and hold onto the opponent. What's your suggestion on fighting brawlers if I'm a ranged fighter?
