A dream of falling from the sky...and then birth. Rakka is born from a large cocoon into the Old Home, greeted by a group of females with small wings on their backs and shining halos above their heads. Soon Rakka’s own wings grow, a halo is placed on her head and she is told that she must work in the nearby town of Grie. She soon realizes that the town and the entire world they live in are confined behind the Wall, a tall, impenetrable wall that none except the mysterious Toga are allowed to exit.

Since this series is licensed, it is not on CR. Instead, as with all animes that are not on CR due to licensing, you can go to and watch it there.

Extremely subtle and melancholy in nature, I have found that people generally either like or dislike this anime. While the animation and music are good, and the story is very original, it does however, leave a lot to be assumed. Mostly an intelligent watch because of this, if you are not intellectually sound, you probably will not like it and will write it off saying that it "sucks". However, it does touch on many issues that deal with the humanity of the individual characters and can be quite touching. Because of these things, I would say that this is a very good series.

This series was a rather thought provoking and philosophical series that isn't comparable to any other anime I can think of. For action fans this is not for you. I enjoyed it and even though you really have to think about whats going on its a pretty relaxing anime, although I could have done without the coming out of the wings. Since it seems that the kids are there and basically find out what they did when they were alive then the dissapear over the wall, it almost seems to me like refrence to Catholic purgatory although I'm not Catholic and the anime never mentions religion. The anime's music is nice and relaxing and fits the anime well.
