I heard plans of Microsoft switching to Blu-ray since HD-dvd is or is predicted to be a failure, I personally respect the fact that Microsoft has some great business leaders, they are making an practical decision, I'm also wondering if the change is made will it be a true change as in installing a blu-ray player in the 360 not some other piece of hardware like they did with HD-dvd, anyway consider this a rumor and don't flame me please. Also if the HD-DVD add-on cost $200 how much will a Blu-ray add-on cost, I'm guessing significantly more. The fact that the PS3 is cheaper than the 360 is becoming more and more evident.

"We've already been working on, for example, in Windows, device driver support for Blu-ray drives and the like, and I think the world moves on. Toshiba has moved on. We've moved on, and we'll support Blu-ray in ways that make sense."

Warner-bros is also dropping HD-DVD.

Firstly, seriously old news. They've said this like... 2 months ago...

Secondly, they're not switching to blueray. They did say that they'll make a blueray DVD add-on if there's enough requests for the 360.

Thirdly, in Canada, 360 is still cheaper than PS3.

Forthly, the PS3 still has the lowest sales, and Sony refuses to count how many PS3's they've sold, and gave them a number of the PS3s they've actually shipped.

1st. First time I've heard of this, if you noticed the article I posted was written 3 days ago, and regardless of the time it doesn't change the fact that it has happened.
2nd. Maybe so...always provide resources, I don't see how this is conflicting with what I said, this is pretty much what I was saying aside from the not switching to blu-ray part.

We can now reveal to you that Microsoft is indeed working with Sony to allow the Xbox 360 to become Blu-ray accessible. Speaking yesterday in Las Vegas, Steve Balmer, the CEO of Microsoft had this to say:

"We've already been working on, for example, in Windows, device driver support for Blu-ray drives and the like, and I think the world moves on. Toshiba has moved on. We've moved on, and we'll support Blu-ray in ways that make sense."

3rd. I'm quite unsure whether I can take your word for that, I'm not referring to stock price right out the store.
4th. This is true, but not something I myself am concerned about, I was simply saying that this was a win for the PS3 in that it supports Blu-ray not the abandoned HD-DVD

Finally notice how I said I "heard plans", I'm not supporting anything factually regarding Microsoft and their plans, I meant to put at the end of my post don't take my word for it, but I forgot to add that part. If you're having any problems with the information, why don't you e-mail the author of the article and address your concerns.

Firstly. Even if the article was written only 3 days ago, I've heard of it since around Febuary. If you look in Wikipedia, it says that "On Febuary 19th, Toshiba stopped producing the HD-DVDs" Toshiba was the only place that was actually producing them as well. Also, Microsoft stopped making HD-DVD add on for the 360.

Secondly. On your third article, you should know that there really has been a price drop. The 40 gig PS3s cost $399 in the stores around my area, while the Xbox 360 pro bundle is 349 dollars. The pro bundle is not the arcade version, but the 20 gig version. They've dropped the price of 360 just a few days ago. I've checked most of the stores, and it's still correct.

Thirdly. On your paragraph, you said that "It was an epic win for the Blue ray, and the PS3". If you meant it by how it won the format wars, you should've said so. Otherwise, people, like me, will misread your statement.

360's problem is its constant relogging in and loading screens. Also, the appearance of the "red ring of death" (sign telling you to send back your 360). The games are pretty good, not superb. I like the controller since I got used to it while playing with the original Xbox controller. The price for the 360 owns the PS3 for now. Graphics are fine but the PS3 is gonna have the fun asian games (i.e FFV13, GTA 4, KH3, etc). Gears of War and Halo 3 are considered "old" so Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty 4 will consume time for now (fyi, those two games are of good quality I recommend them). But then again, PS3 games (later on in the year) will dominate and the Wii's game play won't get old for a while. I rate the 360 console a 7 to a higher 7. Super Smash Brothers Brawl will easily force every Smash nerd into submission due to it's awesomeness and PS3 will have all the Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts nerds (like me). I heard Devil May Cry and Grand Theft Auto 4 are gonna be released for both the PS3 and the 360. Either way, it's better for gamers so we don't have to buy all 3 game consoles. Or do we....?

The focus of my first post is appearing to get lost, it simply on the negotiations of Microsoft and Sony regarding Blu-ray, the other stuff was just other factors of the situation.

1st, Well I've already addressed your first point, so you can read my previous reply on that matter again (I AM aware of the actual dates.)

2nd, if your telling yourself the 360 is cheaper then go on ahead, but simply put, I'm looking at the price matter a rather different and quite obvious way, I'm simply taking feature to feature for both systems to the point where they are nearly the same features, not out of the box prices, I don't have exact numbers but have rather heard practical estimates. " I'm NOT referring to stock price right out the store[pro bundle or not]. "

3rd, Please don't take me seriously on that, and I apologize if people like you misread that, I assumed people like you simply would infer that I was talking about the same thing the main idea of the post was about, you and I both know PS3 hasn't won the console wars, I was rather amused by entire situation and used such an adjective, but I didn't literally mean epic as in the PS3 has completely won over the 360, it's just a frame of speech used by nearly everyone at my school and others to emphasize the situation, which is Sony making the right choice to support Blu-ray with its PS3 and not HD-DVD, and Microsoft looking completely wrong.
