I suppose you can start by doing good things to gain good karma?
Or if that doesn't help...I suggest studying up on the teachings of Buddhism?
Or attend classes at a temple.
Sometimes I find them enlightening.

Try something new. Take up an instrument, study the flight paths of owls, find something that interests you then pursue it. If nothing interests you then you should be happy doing nothing.

This is kind of an ongoing thing but I've been trying to make more friends with people that like animes and also make some friends on CR. I don't really know how to go about it on CR, I've been joining groups and commenting on news posts. Does anyone have any ways or can give me any sort of advice because I feel like I'm doing something wrong like thinking too hard or that there's something wrong with me?

You have more friends than me now! Argh! I'm glad I didn't help you else I would have drowned in a pool of irony.

Speaking of irony does anyone feel that the compulsion to help others might be a sign of some sort of psychological defect? It hasn't been proven that altruism is part of human nature (there is usually a reason.) As defects go its not a bad one to have.

Do you feel bored a lot? If so you're not happy doing nothing. You want to do something, you just don't know what. (From personal experience.)

If not, it must be nice to feel so content! Your parents probably just want you to live your life while you're still young. You won't be happy doing nothing forever, I played a lot of games/watched a LOT of anime when I was younger and loved it but eventually that love waned (either that or games/anime started getting a bit kak.)

Point is! You don't want to be stuck thinking about things you could have done, that's what I think the 'rents are thinking. So maybe you should take up something, just in case you eventually get bored of doing nothing. I took up guitar personally, glad I did, sometimes it's nice to just chill, play some chords and sing along.

Stop trying so hard maybe? Who calls someone they barely know (assumed from request failure) a sexy beast?! Plus I think eclair has her hands full already with 180-odd buddies! My-my!

But I do know her, we have so much history together. She's just playing hard to get.

Wonder if anybody's actually going to respond... (it'd be nice, this has been making me really anxious for a while now)

So I've recently changed meds for ADD, and when the old ones were working, I could easily start and finish the anime I was watching from each ep's start to finish, and from 1-4 eps in a row depending on my mood. On the new meds, I don't know if I'm just getting used to them or what, but I can't watch 1-2 episodes without eventually severing my focus entirely; usually backing up the episode I was watching to hours after I started watching it.
So my question is:

Does anybody have any recommendations on how to make watching anime more immersive? Or some ways to stay concentrated for at least a whole episode before I do something completely different?

I currently watch most of my anime on my iMac (27"), and I use Bose QC15 (which covers the audio immersion IMO). I'm thinking of ordering a wall mount for my iMac and clearing off my desk so there isn't anything on it that might randomly steal my attention out of nowhere when I'm watching stuff. That said, does anybody have any suggestions? Or maybe in the end it's just because I have ADD. Thanks.

Edit: Forgive me if this is the wrong help thread >_>

Everyone handles the grieving process differently. You should realize that it's pretty normal for the loss of a loved one to put strain on the griever's personal relationship(s).

Communication is the key. Depending on the person you are, you just might need some time by yourself to wrap your mind around the tragedy and recuperate. Or you might be the type of person who will want to keep their family and friends around them to give them a sense of routine and "normal" every day life moving on.

Whatever you may need, in order to avoid misunderstanding and hurt feelings, you have to communicate to the other people in your life that you're struggling with your personal loss, and let them know what they can do to make the healing easier. Let them know it has nothing to do with them, and that you're not avoiding them or mean anything personal against them, it's merely your reaction to the death of a loved on.

And here I was, not really expecting any sort of reply to my post. So thank you.

Things have gotten a lot better between him and me since I last posted that. And I do realize the effects that grief can have on an individual and people around him/her—though it's difficult to keep things like that in mind when you've just lost your mother.
