well if you think about it though if the sharigan is not part of his bloodline does he really have to go by the guidelines of killing your best friend to obtain it.. i think he did a lot of training to get it i just dont see kakashi killing someone out of cold blood

who know maybe it can go 2 ways, obita gave him the eye so it was able to be mangekyou and maybe obita really is the 1 behind tobies mask you never know maybe cuz he gave his other eye to his friend he was able to get an even stronger 1 then mangekyou who know well anyway thats just a theory

well since theres the book/tablets of uchiha secrets.i bet theres alot of ms that can be obtained.one thing that might had happened was becasue obito gave him the eye and die then that could of counted as his best friend dieing(though that theory gets thrown out if obito is really tobi).i think he just trained really hard and just found out he could .he is a genius if obito is tobi being controlled by madara then i think kakashi got that eye for a reason so that a higher ms can be obtained.
