I used to be a loner but college really helped.
When you're surrounded by people who share the same interests, it's a lot easier to 'come out of your shell'

im mostly a loner im RL cause there not much people to talk to who actually care

Hey, as long as I'm surrounded by cute chicks thats all that matters. LOL

I'm quite shy around people I don't know, so I pretty much stay away from everyone except my friends initially, which people the expression that I'm your average shy kid, but as I get to know people I become anti-shy. This usually repeats itself with every new grade, and I'm about to start my first year of high school. Anyway unlike my friends I can go long hours without leaving my house and still feel entertained. I can be a loner during the summer but in the second semester of school I'm totally different.

I'm both I guess. I hate being around people for too long, sometimes its just fun to be off by myself. I always know what I'll do next, there are no surprises when your by yourself. I don't have to pretend either, and if I want to jump in a circle and do the chicken dance, well nothing is stopping me! =]

Not too long ago, I found myself noticing every single annoying detail about someone. It could be my best friend, even family. I would stop noticing the good things about them, focusing on the bad.

So I learned that sometimes I just need alone time, so I won't end up hating everyone around me for something very trivial.

But, honestly, when I'm alone I feel, well...lonely. I hate being by myself. Its just my crazy thin line of hating people but hating to be without them.

I am kinda both....

I have a wide social circle but there's gotta be one time in your life when you would want to spend time with yourself. Solitude is my way to unwind fully ^^

Ya im a loner and this is by choice. I feel more at peace when I am alone I hate being around lots of people theres just so many emotions flying around in crowds that I shut down and I can't function on a normal level.

i dont really think im a loner... really... last yr ppl i only had 2 friends n middle school.. and i was nice 2 ppl...but when we tried making convos.. i perfered not 2 talk 2 them.. so i made it kinda hard 2 have a convo... and made it so they didnt have anything 2 say or reply back 2.... but this yr.. i was more social... but i perfer 2 keep my distant fr ppl sometimes... i talk ALOT more now...

i never really thought about it actually......i guess i am, but its not like im proud of it, like...i wouldnt be proud if i had alot of freinds....cuse i never really thought about it??

I grew up as a loner...I mean, I had pseudo-friends at school but nobody I would actually go and hang out with much after school....nobody I'd really like to hang out with constantly anyway. Its like I had people to do small talk with back in HS and copy homework and stuff off of but nobody I'd really call a true friend....kinda like I was surrounded by acquaintances but no true companions.

So, when I graduated HS, I was relieved in a way that I wouldnt have to run into them anymore and try to make small talk and conversations that would amount into nothing. But I really am a social person, thats why I liked talking to people but it just turned out that I had no true friends.

In college, I was happy to do the same thing with classmates...just work on projects together and talk in class but nothing unrelated to what was going on in class.

But during that time in college I did have friends who were actually my older bro's friends but they befriended me too....and now the 3 of us are pretty close in our post-college/young professional lives....my older bro has so many friends he can't keep track of them all...LOL. I even have a couple coworkers who I hang out with every so often...a couple of them are kinda like me with few friends. All in all, I'm content with who I'm surrounded with right now....good hearted people who aren't fake.

On a side note, I DO have a coworker who seems to prefer to be a total loner....he takes vacations for MONTHS just camping out in foreign countries and talking to strangers with small talk and enjoying nature. He usually doesnt tag along on social events that we hold among coworkers and even then he stays quiet. He likes talking tho which doesn't quite fit his behavior. Overall good guy, not weird besides that he likes isolation.
